Poly tubing made of High density polyethylene (HDPE) weighs between 0.941 grams per cubic centimeter (0.084 Oz per cubic inch). These tubing are not as flexible as LDPE, but it stands up to sterilization by boiling. Being a sterilized product, this category of tubing is especially used for food handling applications. Moreover, this poly tubing has high resistance against corrosive chemicals as compared to LDPE; this makes these more suitable for scientific applications in laboratories.
