Audio-Visual Evangelism
A week after the resurrection of Jesus, the greatest event in all of human history, the risen Lord appeared (the second time) to His disciples and told Thomas to see His hands, touch His side, and stop doubting and believe (Jn. 20:27). Then, two verses later, He said, Because you have seen me, you have believed (v.29). Jesus, our greatest model of evangelism, preached and taught using real life illustrations/parables that the people visualized as well as heard (widows mite, farming, fishing, tax collecting, money, construction, nature, etc.). Researchers have found that audio-visual communication is one of the most effective means of information, comprehension, and retention. Im sure the image of Jesus pierced hands and side became an unforgettable memory for Thomas. An excerpt from an article by the U.S. Department of Labor states that: Studies by educational researchers suggest that approximately 83% of human learning occurs visually, and the remaining 17% through the other senses11% through hearing, 3.5% through smell, 1% through taste, and 1.5% through touch. The studies suggest that three days after an event, people retain 10% of what they heard from an oral presentation, 35% from a visual presentation, and 65% from a visual and oral presentation. I used to wonder how my children could watch a movie or TV program and a week later vividly remember scenes and quote lines verbatim. Now, I know! THIS IS WHY FILM MINISTRY IS SO EFFECTIVE! The Jesus Film has become one of the most effective evangelistic tools of all time. Translated into more than 1,160 languages, with more added regularly, people in more than 200 countries can hear the Word of God in their own heart language and see it acted out on the screen. Millions of people have, and are, coming to Christ through the Jesus Film. And its only one of many excellent evangelistic films that DIM uses around

January 4-13 I traveled to Bogota to make repairs on the Mobile Unit projector screen and serve with the evangelism team for a week of ministry in Ambalema, a village four hours from Bogota over hazardous mountain roads. Ambalema is a town where roads from several other villages intersect. There is no evangelical church in these areas. The team conducted VBS every morning for 150-200 children and showed a movie every night in the city park. Many trusted Christ, and a church will be planted soon.

to the Mobile Unit. Major maintenance is an annual need there because road conditions are terrible and the team is aggressive in conducting more meetings than most of our other partners. I dont complain because we want the Mobile Unit to wear out, not rust out.

INDIA (New India Evangelistic Association)

by Alexander Philip, President of NIEA Recently an eight member team took part in a three day outreach program organized by New India Gospel Team. Two adjacent districts of Idukki and Kottayam were covered in the outreach. Many houses were visited and Gospel tracts were distributed. The two Gospel vans gifted by Drive-In Ministries, equipped with projector, screen, etc. are a boon to our regular outreach ministries. Please pray for the thousands who hear the Gospel, that they would open their hearts to Jesus.

Short Term Missionaries! God is working in so many ways with the ministry in Romania! There are three young people returning to work with us this year after coming with a large group from my home church, First Baptist of Hart, Michigan. From left to right, they are Maggie Moul, Lauren Hallack and David Moul. Maggie and David are siblings and will stay one month and Lauren will be in Romania all summer! All three are seeking Gods direction in their lives and would appreciate prayer on their behalf.

Also returning for a 2nd summer of ministry is Stephen Jones, son of Mike and Anna Mae Jones. Stephen was with us last summer for about two months. Like the other three, he is seeking Gods direction in his life as well, and would appreciate prayer as the Lord leads him. There are others planning to come this summer and already plans are under way for a group to come to Romania in 2014! God is really working as the Lord has given opportunity to speak in at least 21 churches since January 1 this year. Im thankful for the great response to the message of ministry in Romania, and the Lord willing, I will arrive back in Romania April 19!

Ministry Re-Release
General Fund
In the last FOCUS, I announced the creation of two special donor clubs to help fund the general fund for 2013. The 25/50 club asks for 25 people to give $50 a month for 12 months. The 2013 club asks for 20 churches, business owners, or individuals to give a one-time gift of $1300 sometime during this year. Several have already responded in each club, giving the general fund a boost (Thank YOU!), however others are still very much needed. Your help is vitally important for operating the ministry through the summer and fall. Please prayerfully consider helping Drive-In Ministries this year!

U.S. Reports
Alabama Property
The new headquarters/ministry facility construction continues to be on hold as we wait upon the Lord to sell the Florida property and provide additional funding. In the mean time, clean up and some site development continues. In March, a large group (all ages) from Open Door Baptist Church here in Prattville, came out and spent a couple hours helping pick up sticks, rocks, etc. to help the looks and better facilitate the mowing. It was a fun and blessed afternoon. Thanks Open Door friends!

unteers countless hours to keep the grounds and building clean and attractive! Also thank you to Allen (pictured on lawn mower) and Marge Nye who help too.

Joe McDonald Ministry

April 15-30 is our annual driving trip to Mexico with the Drive-In Ministries equipment. We are blessed to have the use of the 5th Wheel unit for different areas of movie ministry. This year, not only will we perform 5 big programs in the Parras de la Fuenta area, well also do 5-6 in the Piedras Negras area to help celebrate Dia del Nios with a ministry group there. Well take 200 Bibles, 1,200 books of John, and 1,400 prayer and praise books. In addition we will have walkers, wheel chairs, crutches, and hundreds of other things, including toys, balls, and appliances to give away as part of the movie. Each program includes music, face painting, games, a magic fun show before the movie starts, and a prize give-a-way after the movie. We plan to use the Jesus Film childrens edition this year for our movie. We still need additional money for fuel ($1,500 estimated cost); tires ($1,400) and six of us have to eat for two

Florida Property
The Florida property continues to attract interested prospective buyers, but no sale yet. We continue to trust the Lord for His special plan. Keep Praying! Special thanks to Mr. Ken Beard who vol-
