Business Cards
Date: Feb. 28, 2013 Instructor: Eric Lybbert Class: Comm 130 Section 01 Programs/Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator Objective: Learning how to create professional business cards for a company How the logo represents the company: This logo is for my film company. I thought it would be a creative idea to use something related to film. I made a movie clapper as well an extension cord to show technology is a big part of the movie business. Process: Before anything else, I created a new logo for my film company. I made a movie clapper using various shapes. I made anchor points with the pen tool to fill in black and make zebra stripes. I picked two different fonts that complimented each other to draw attention. For the Letterhead, I made an extension cord at the top and bottom of the page. This would clearly ensure that the body of the paper be separate from the letterhead. I used the same style of work on my business card as my letterhead so companies would not be confused.

Web Page
Date: March 15, 2013 Instructor: Eric Lybbert Class: Comm 130 Section 01 Programs/Tools Used: Notepad ++, Text Wrangler, and Photoshop Objective: Learning how to create a professionally styled webpage Changes made to the CSS: In order to add more contrast in my document I used green. This helped my document to stand out more instead of looking plain and boring. Process: At the beginning of my project I wrote up code in Notepad++ to create my HTML document. In order to make sure there were no errors, I validated the document online. The next step was to add CSS code. In order to know what number the color codes were in my document, I used the color dropper. Afterward I double-clicked on the color in photoshop and got the color codes needed. Finally I adjusted the font-families created and took a screenshot of the document on the web and saved it. After finishing the code for HTML I attached an existing CSS document into my project. I altered the colors and font style. With help, I learned to adjust the placement of lines, text, and my logo. This determines how much the selected material is top, right, bottom, left: 0x 0x 0x 0x. My word count for this document is 269 words.

Brochure
Date: March 30, 2013 Instructor: Eric Lybbert Class: Comm 130 Section 01 Programs/Tools Used: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop Objective: Learning how to create a professional brochure for the behalf of a company Process: For my brochure, I set up my ruler guides to know where the fold needed to be. From there I proceeded to make the back of my brochure black. On the front, I placed my logo and my main purpose of the company. I created lines to copy the design of the top of the movie clapper and made it a water mark. On the inside of the brochure, I placed four images, one of which I edited in Photoshop. I stylized my paragraphs with indenting. I used text wrapping around the video camera image and the crew image.

Montage
Date: Feb 16, 2013 Instructor: Eric Lybbert Class: Comm 130 Section 01 Programs/Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop Objective: Learning how to create a professional montage Process: I found a quote that I liked and found three pictures online that complimented the quote. I loaded my pictures onto Photoshop. Once I got the images in the right place, I added masks to two of the pictures. Using the opacity tool and the brush, I blended the objects into the background picture. The text that was use complemented the picture. The black text was in a darker area of the picture so I gradually brightened to fix the problem. I saved the project.

Logos
Date: Feb 23 2013 Instructor: Eric Lybbert Class: Comm 130 Section 01 Programs/Tools Used: llustrator Objective: Learning how to create uniquely designed logos for a company How the logo represents the company: My logo is representing proffessionalism with modern creativity. These logos give an idea of the style people should expect my film company to produce. Process: I opened Illustrator and developed three draft logos for class. After gaining some helpful tips I changed all three of the logos. In two of my logos I used shapes to add attention. The third logo I made one letter larger than the others to add emphasis. The word films I made the same color as the letter S to create a repetitive pattern. In order to make my company name appear shorter, I placed the word films under the first word. After much adjustment of size and length of words I got the result I desired in the logos.

Imaging
Date: Feb 09, 2013 Instructor: Eric Lybbert Class: Comm 130 Section 01 Programs/Tools Used: Canon PowerShot SD1400IS Digital ELPH Adobe Photoshop Objective: Learning how to capture pictures in/out of focus and enhance them through photoshop Process: I captured this picture with a small point and shoot camera. The picture was then uploaded onto Photoshop. I used the crop tool and changed it to a 66 image. I used the quick selection tool and magic wand to isolate the areas I wanted to alter. I de-saturated the background and added the sponge filter. Lastly, I colorized the foreground to add contrast to the picture.

Event Ad
Date: Feb 02, 2013 Instructor: Eric Lybbert Class: Comm 130 Section 01 Programs/Tools Used: Microsoft Word, HP Scanner, PDF2JPG.net (PDF converter) Objective: Created a color full-bleed event ad to promote a fundraiser using only Microsoft Word and a scanner. Process: I cut out a photo in a magazine and scanned it onto my usb drive. I imported the picture into Microsoft Word. From there, I resized the picture and added a color box to enhance the flier. I used different sizes of text to attract attention for the event. I created a music note by using the shape tools and grouping the shapes together to form it. Once done, I needed to be sure the margin settings were correct to get a full bleed. Finally, I saved my event flier as a pdf.

Flier
Date: Jan 26, 2013 Instructor: Eric Lybbert Class: Comm 130 Section 01 Programs/Tools Used: Adobe InDesign Objective: To create a color full-bleed event ad to promote a fundraiser using only Microsoft Word and a scanner. Process: To begin the project I drew out four possible sketches of what my flier should resemble. I chose one of the sketches as a model and saved the necessary images into my flier project. Opening InDesign, I grabbed the images and placed them into my project. Two very contrasting fonts were used to add life to my flier. The project was organized in such a way as to have free white space to contrast with the black boxed title of the flier. The image, logo, and content was already prepared for me.
