This book shared how the iron horse improved farming, how advances were added on to the train for more safety, and how some countries enforced the use of electric trains. Chant, Christopher. The Worlds Railroads: Early Pioneers explained the very beginning of trains in the United States and its rapid growth throughout the country. This book also helped my project because it shared how other countries started building trains before the United States did. Wormser, Richard. The Iron Horse: How the Railroads Changed America. New York City: Walker Publishing Company Inc.,1993. In this book I learned many of the problems that occurred with early rail travel. I also learned that railroads didnt only create problems in America, but in England too. Despite many of the problems, train travel was very popular and was growing. Fisher Leonard Everett. Tracks Across America: The Story of the American Railroad 1825-1900. United States: Leonard Everett Fisher, 1992. Tracks Across America taught me about how railroad business greatly affected Native Americans. Many problems with the Native Americans were population decrease and losing their land.
