RETURNING TO THE TASTES (AND PRICES) OF THE 1980S FOR 4 WEEKS ONLY

A long-standing landmark and haunt of celebrities over the last 40 years, from Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes and the Geldofs, to James Blunt and Gemma Arterton, Barbarella will be taking a trip down memory lane with a playful look at rd the restaurants offerings from 30 years ago. Launching 23 April 2013 for a very limited period, the iconic late-night restaurant will be offering a selection of classic dishes from an original 1980s menu, at the original 1980s prices. Back in Barbarella's heyday, the food was sophisticated Mediterranean fare, featuring 80s trendy favourites such as Baked Avocado with prawns and a lobster sauce and Duckling baked with apple quarters and simmered in Cin zano Bianco. Having been sent a genuine 1980s menu by a regular loyal customer, Head Chef Lauren Clement Delbos has been inspired to recreate a selection of the Italian dishes of the time to mark the start of her appointment. The dishes have been created using modern techniques and the highest quality seasonal ingredients, but with starters at around the 1-2 mark and main courses at 2-3, the prices for this special dining offer will be extremely old-fashioned. Launching on Tuesday 23 April for four weeks only and available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7.30pm, the classic dishes will be served to a maximum of fifty diners per evening, alongside Barbarella's carefully curated (and modern-priced) wine list and cocktail selection. There will even be a dessert trolley! Dishes served from the 1980s menu include: STARTERS Pate della Casa Cose di Maiale Casanova Spare ribs Casanova style Gazpacho Andaluz MAINS Fettuccine alla Tony His own secret recipe! Coniglio A la Facon du Chef Fresh rabbit, the recipe known only to the chef Pollo alla Latin Lover Chicken breast fried and filled with butter, garlic & parsley
