The Lugger Hotel, Portloe
This hotel was refurbished and the design and project management for the works were carried out by GPJ Consulting Engineers Limited. The Hotel was refurbished to a very high standard, with new M&E services provided throughout the site. New boilers and a hot water system as well as full electrical services were installed during a tight deadline. The Hotel has since won many national and international accolades including Sunday Times Seaside Hotel of the Year, and is listed as one of the top UK hotels in the HIP Hotel Guide.

Hotel Tresanton, St Mawes

E n g i n e e r s e m p l o ye d b y G P J Consulting Engineers Limited were closely involved in the design of all Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Services during the complete refurbishment of this prestigious award winning hotel. The hotel is located on a split level site and featured multiple plant rooms to serve the accommodation blocks. Working closely with interior designers and the hotel management team, GPJ Consulting provided, heating, domestic services, drainage, ventilation, data, TV and internal and external lighting throughout the site.

Watergate Bay Hotel, Newquay

GPJ Consulting Engineers were employed at the hotel to provide engineering design services for a rapid refurbishment of the hotels Hot, Cold and Heating pipework. The refurbishment had to work within the tight confines of the existing hotel structure. A new pressurised cold water system was installed to eliminate the roof tanks and to provide a constant pressure throughout the building. New heating, hot and cold water services were designed and the installation supervised to meet the tight construction programme. The Hotel was successfully opened on time.

Tourist Information Centre, Falmouth

GPJ Consulting Engineers have completed the design of Plumbing and Electrical services to the new tourist information office in the busy seaside town of Falmouth. This included a new heating and ventilation system, lighting and Disabled Access Facilities. After its refurbishment the centre went on to win Tourist Information Centre of the Year Award.

Public Buildings

The Dracena Centre, Falmouth

GPJ Consulting Engineers were employed by the Centre to provide M&E design and site assistance for the refurbishment and new build local community and sports facility in the seaside town of Falmouth. GPJ Consulting Engineers provided full services design for the heating, hot and cold water, drainage and ventilation systems within the building. Lighting, small power, fire alarm, security and DDA access systems were also designed. SBEM calculations for the building were also carried out in house by our Approved Low Carbon Consultant. GPJ Consulting provided on site assistance to the Design Team and the installing Contractors to ensure the project was completed on time

Camborne Railway Station

GPJ Consulting Engineers were employed to carry out a refurbishment of the Camborne Railway Station. The station which is GPJ Consultings second station refurbishment, was in need of a full revamp. Working closely with the Client, Design Team and railway operator GPJ Consulting provided M&E design services including heating, hot and cold water, air conditioning, electrical lighting and small power. Specialist railway installations were catered for, including data, CCTV, alarm and train information services.

Tiverton Town Hall

GPJ Consulting Engineers have carried out a refurbishment of Tiverton Town Hall in Devon. The Town Hall was to become a combined town council facility and Citizens Advice Bureau. A new heat pump air conditioning system was installed to provide cooling to the CAB offices. A new boiler was installed to serve the town hall and CAB office spaces. The lighting, small power, telephone, data and security systems were also replaced. The scheme which had to work within the confines of the listed building were all completed on time.
