Gluing shoes can be difficult at the best of times, and inexperience or the chance of failure can be off putting for many farriers. Using the correct techniques and products for the job can increase your chances of success and add another shoeing system to your tool kit. Fee $20 NZFA Members. $40 Non Members

Class 3. Save Edge Rasp Junior Apprentice. 30min Entry Fee $30 Class 4. ODwyer Horseshoes Senior Apprentice. 50min. Entry Fee $30
Make, fit and nail on one shoe, concave steel to suit the foot. Make a Welsh Cob specimen

Dress one foot and make a toe clipped near front shoe. 300mm of 20mm x10mm concave stock. 6 nail holes. E4

Class 5. Bryant Farrier Supplies Intermediate. 50min. Entry Fee $30


Make, fit and nail on one concave shoe. Make a Scotch Heel specimen shoe.

Class 6. Mustad Machine Made. 20min. Entry fee $30


Dress one foot and nail on a machine made shoe

Class 7. Derby Nails Open Shoeing. 50 min. Entry $40


One concave shoe on the foot, one scotch heel specimen as above.

Senior- 20mm x 10mm fullered heartbar. 25min

Class 8. M. & J. Farrier Supplies ltd Eagle Eye. Entry $30


Junior- 20mm x10mm plain stamped, 7 nail holes. 15min

Sunday 26th May. 8am

Class 9. Metal Man Speed Forging. 20min. Entry Fee $30


Make a pair of hinds.

Class 10. St Croix Open Forging. 60min. Entry Fee $40


Make a set down bar and a welsh cob shoe.

Class 11. Mustad Nails Draught Horse Shoeing. 75min. Entry Fee $100.
2 man team, each person to shoe 1 foot. fullered, toe clipped

Class 12. Best Dressed Foot. Entry fee $10

Judges Talk 7.30 First class starts at 8am Running order may need to be amended on the day Entries close 10th May The earlier entries come in, the easier it is to organise catering and horse numbers. Prize money subject to entries
