are advised to know yourIshtaDevata. The procedure for worshipping of your lshtaDevta is simple and is based on the chanting of the related Mantras for the suitable Devata. A classicDvadakshari Mantra for Lord Vishnu as IshtaDevata is given by the Parashara Sage in his Vishnu Purana as follows: Om namobhagavatevasudevayanamah. It is said that IshtaDevata is also the individual Deity who guides the soul to its real home--Moksha. The key role in enlightening onesIshtaDevata plays the Atma Karaka. Astrologers say that Atma Karaka is the planet that has the highest longitude in one's horoscope. So if you want to find out your IshtaDevata you have to look at the Atma Karaka planet in Navamsa, meanwhile the Navamsa shows blessings of God onto the person and the way in which the native communicates with God. And Navamsa is also known as the dharma-amsa, since it is the 9th division (9th house signifies dharma). So we should look for IshtaDevata in this Varga. TO KNOW ISHTA DEVTA As per BhagyaSamhita rules, Atma Karaka is the planet that has the highest longitude in one's natal Chart. Atma Karaka in Navamsa is named the "Karakamsa". The 12th from the Karakamsacontrols the "IsthaDevata". The 12th house from the karakamsa is named the "Jivanmuktamsa". This is the house which suggests the freedom of the soul and thus we have to observe this house in order to find your IshtaDevata and if there is a Graha in the Jivanmuktamsa, it indicates the Devata. If there are more Grahas than one, we select the strongest. If there is no Graha in the Jivanmuktamsa, we can see whether any Grahas are inspecting the 12th. If no Grahas aspect it, we can take the 12th Lord as IshtaDevata.In the chapter called "kaarakaamsaphala" in BPHS, Parasarastated the deities adored based on the planets in the 12th from kaarakaamsha. The five dieties worshipped enhance the 5 Tatwa and 5 Lower chakras for everyday living. the list and sequence of 5 dieties are, 1) Ganesha 2) Surya and/or Karthikeya 3) Vishnu (Any of the 10th Avatars of Vishnu mantra can be taken) 4) Shiva (Any of Shiva mantra) 5) Mother worship (Paarvati, Can be any of the 10 Mahaavidya mother forms, 8 Lakshmi or Saraswathi) If you have Any Guru mantra recite it before the above list Else one can worship Shiva as Guru. The above list diety forms can be exactly worshipped if you know your chart, 1) Ishta devata: The Planets in 12th from Atmakaaraka in Navamsa Else the 12th Lord. You can select the form of Vishnu if you want. This diety gives peace of mind and focus in Life. 2) Dharma Devata: The Planet in 9th from Atmakaaraka(Ak) if none then 9th lord from Ak in Navamsa. You Can select Shiva/Vishnu form. This diety gives you higher learnings and protects your path followed. Or you can select a Form of Surya. 3) Paalana Devata: The Planets in 6th house from Amaatyakaaraka (Amk) in Navamsa if none then 6th lord from Amk. As Shiva is indicate by Surya and it's 9th lord from Ak. (It's seen that since his 5th house is aspected by Surya andJupiter) His natural inclination is to worship Surya. Hence His dharma is increasing. 5) Worship Lakshmi, Venus rules his Paalana devi. This worship will give him good work.
