Stewardship and Development

Development Thought: Do you have a life insurance policy that is paid-up which you no longer need? This is a very simple but very helpful gift to give for the benefit of our church. To learn how donating a life insurance policy can also help you earn a generous tax credit against your Montana income taxes for 2013, please contact Judy Held, director of stewardship for our diocese, at 800-332-9998 or at stewardship@diocesfgfb.org. Stewardship Thought: Discipleship is the common theme linking todays Scripture passages. In the Acts of the Apostles, Peter and his fellow Apostles fearlessly witness Christ to the Sanhedrin. They are honored to suffer for Jesus name, regardless of the cost. In the Book of Revelation, the faithful praise the Lamb with honor and glory. In St. Johns Gospel, Jesus, following His Resurrection, asks Peter three times if he loves Him. Peter responds Yes each time, solidifying his discipleship and eventually leading to his martyrdom. Expressions of stewardship begin with discipleship in the Lord. Like the Apostles, are we boldly willing to give witness to Christ and follow Him whatever the cost?

Parish Choir Announcement

Dear Parishioners of St. Mary's Church, If you have not yet heard, Kay has passed on the reins of St. Mary's Choir to us. Dan will be the new choir director and Kerri will be the organist. As you have seen, the organ is now in the choir loft. I believe that this is a great opportunity to encourage family and friends to join. Singing from the back of the church is great fun. It decreases much of the anxiety people rarely get when singing. Also we would like to invite any junior high and high school students to the choir. This year, we are taking a different approach to rehearsals. We are having weekly rehearsals for a couple of months prior to our first scheduled mass of the season. The choir will develop a basic repertoire of music and master different pieces with three or four part harmony. We will be making free rehearsal CD's so that the choir can listen to their respective parts in the car. Our goal is to have a full repertoire of songs prepared so that we can focus on a few songs at a time and need fewer rehearsals. The rehearsals will be on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM and last for about an hour. The next rehearsal will be Wednesday April 17 at 7:00 PM. For students, there will be a separate rehearsal. For more information or to sign up please contact Dan at 845-264-7577 or e-mail Kerri at kacornish@hotmail.com. God Bless! -- Dan and Kerri Morton

Confessions: Saturdays 4 - 5 p.m., 1/2 hour before daily Mass (Mon.- Fri.) or by appointment Anointing of the Sick: Please contact Fr. Cory as soon as possible for anointing. Baptism: Normally celebrated at Sunday Mass. Parental sessions are required. Marriages: Six month couple preparation period required. Please contact Fr. Cory before scheduling marriage date.

Faithful Citizenship Quote

"Within the whole network of issues about life, the first priority has to be the right of each individual at every stage simply to exist at all, to be inviolable, to be free from direct attacks. So the church has said that issues that involve direct attacks on innocent human life are primary." Richard Doerflinger, Deputy Director of the Secretariat for Pro-Life Activities, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

Mass Intentions
As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer. The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information! Follow us on Facebook and Twi er!
