To Whom it May Concern,

December 2012

It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Ms. Erica Strucel. Ms. Strucel completed her Special Education Intern Teaching assignment with me at Walled Lake Central High School in the Fall of 2012. During this time, Ms. Strucel showed a genuine concern for each of her students. She also demonstrated initiative and a willingness to help all of our students be successful. During her time at WLC, Ms. Strucel participated in three educational settings: Resource Room, English Skills (a special education English class) and co-teaching in a general education English 10 class. She had experience working with a diverse group of students with a variety of needs and abilities. Ms. Strucel was always positive and warm in her interactions with students. She worked hard to help every student in her care. One of Ms. Strucelsstrongestcharacteristics is that she cares about the wellbeing of her students. She is warm and nurturing while also being able to maintain control of the classroom. She was able to work effectively with students one-on-one, in small groups, and as a whole class. She treated every student with respect and strived to help everyone to the best of her abilities. Ms. Strucel also demonstrated the abilities to multi-task and stay organized in all of her teaching assignments. She was able to master the management tasks that are inherent in the teaching profession while also teaching content. She was able to learn the daily management duties that had to be done as well as implement some organizational ideas of her own. Overall, Ms. Strucel proved to be an excellent intern in her time at Walled Lake Central. She took every opportunity to learn about all aspects of the job as a secondary resource teacher in the special education department. She worked well with other staff members and communicated effectively with parents when necessary. She has a strong desire to be successful and help all students in the classroom setting. Erica cares about each one of her students and will be an asset to the teaching profession. Please feel free to contact me for more information. Sincerely,

Kristy Riegal, M.A.T, Ed.S. kristyriegal@wlcsd.org
