very early in the morning, and they saw that the Tomb was empty. Then they went and told the Apostles: The Mighty One has overpowered corruption, and has rescued those bound in Hades. Proclaim it openly, that Christ God has Risen, granting His Great Mercy.

The Women

purchased Myrrh for Thy Burial, and they went to Thy Tomb very early in the morning. They feared the Judeans overt hostility, and envisioned the soldiers guard of security. And yet their weak nature prevailed over manliness, for their sympathetic sentiments were pleasing to God. So opportunely they shouted: Arise, O Lord! And help us; and deliver us for Thy Names sake!
