TOPIC 1: PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION (THNG TIN C NHN) My names DANG. Im a teacher. Im thirty nice years old.

I live in Hiep Thanh village. My telephone number is 0987013971. In my family therere four people: my husband, two daughters and I. My husband is a teacher, too. Hes fourty two years old. My daughters are students. I like music and sports. Im friendly with other people. TOPIC 2: HOUSE AND HOME (NH CA TI) My house is small, but its nice. In front of my house theres a small yard. Therere some flowers in the yard. In the house therere five rooms: a living-room, two bed-rooms, a kitchen and a small toilet. In the living-room theres a television, a table, some chairs and a bookcase. In the bed-rooms therere beds and wardrobes. In the kitchen theres a fridge, a gas-cooker and some cabinets. Behind my house theres a small garden. In it we grow some vegetables, some fruit trees and some flowers. TOPIC 3: LIFE AT HOME (HOT NG HNG NGY) I get up at six oclock. I brush my teeth and wash my face at six five. I have breakfast at six twenty. I get dressed at six forty. I go to school at six fifty. My classes start at seven oclock. My classes end at eleven oclock. I go home at eleven oclock. I have lunch at eleven thirty. After lunch I have a rest. In the afternoon I do my homework and review my lessons. I have dinner at six oclock. In the evening I learn my lessons, and then watch TV. I go to bed at ten oclock. TOPIC 4: EDUCATION AND FUTURE CAREER (GIO DUC & NGH NGHIP TNG LAI) I learned at Bac Lieu school. I finished my courses in 1989. I used to go to school at six thirty and my school began at six forty-five. At school I learned many subjects such as math, physics, Vietnamese, English and so on. Among them I liked English best because it will be useful in my future, and it helped me know many things. I didnt like physics because it was difficult. In the future Im going to study more because I am always in need of knowledge. TOPIC 5: FREE TIME AND ENTERTAINMENT (THI GIAN RNH RI & GII TR) I learn a lot, but I also have free time. After lunch I often read newspapers. In the afternoon sometimes I play sports. In the evening I often watch films. At weekends I go out with my friends. We go on a picnic. Sometimes we play sports, and then we go to a caf to drink coffee. In my free time I also often help my daughters to do the homework. TOPIC 6: TRAVEL (DU LCH I LI) Every day I go to school and travel around by motorbike. If I go far away, someone will take me on a car. If I go to Camau, Cantho or Hochiminh city, I will go by car or by mini bus. I never go by plane, but I go by boat. If we go to Hanoi, we can go by train or by plane. If we go overseas, we will go by plane. Every year we may go on a vacation. Then we go to some place of interest.

TOPIC 7: RELATION WITH OTHER PEOPLE (QUAN H VI MI NGI) I have a lot of friends. They are teachers in my school and my friends in my neighbourhood. I often go out with my friends. We often play sports. Sometimes we go on a picnic. Sometime I visit my friends. Sometimes we go out to a cafe to drink coffee. I am always friendly with my friends and my neighbours. If my friends are ill, I will visit them. If my neighbours go away, I help them to look after their houses. TOPIC 8: HEALTH AND WELFARE (SC KHO) We always wish to be health. We try to eat and drink regularly, and we often do morning exercises. However, sometimes we are ill. We may have flu, a cold or toothache. Then we take some medicine. We are insured by an insurance company. Doctors and nurses in the hospital are very devoted to treat us. The police and firemen are ready to help us day and night. TOPIC 9: SHOPPING (MUA SM) In my famiily I often go to the market. I often buy meat, fish, and vegetables. Sometimes I buy rice, sugar and cooking oil. I also often buy fruit such as graper, oranges, bananas and so on. Sometimes I buy some novels or newspapers for my husband and some comics or sweets for my daughters. On our birthdays I always buy presents for us. My husband often buys some fruit for my daughters. My daughters usually buy books, pen and so on for learning. And in March 8th, I am given flowers by my daughters. In the markets and shops there are so many goods that we can buy many things we need. TOPIC 10: FOOD AND DRINK (THC N V THC UNG) Every day I eat three meals. I eat egg and bread for breakfast. I eat rice, fish, meat and vegetables for lunch. I eat rice, fish, shrimp and vegetables for dinner. Sometimes I eat chicken or duck. I often drink water after the meals. But I sometimes drink coffee in the cafe. Sometimes I drink fruit juice. At a party I eat a lot of good foods and drink beer or coke. Sometimes I go out to drink something with my friends. I also like to eat fruit such as mango, banana, apple and so on. TOPIC 11: FOREIGN LANGUAGE (TING NC NGOI) English is the most popular language: people use it all over the world. I have learned English for two years. And I continue to learn it in the future. It will be very useful in my life. I learn English every day. I read it. I learn grammar and vocabulary. I listen to the cassette. Sometimes I speak English to my friends. Sometimes if I am lucky, I can speak English with foreigners. TOPIC 12: WEATHER (THI TIT) There are four seasons in a year. They are spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is warm in spring. It is hot in summer. It is cool in autumn. It is cold in winter. In Vietnam there are only two seasons. They are the dry season and the rainy season. It is dry and sunny in the dry season. It is wet and rainy in the rainy season. Sometimes there is a storm and sometimes there is a flood.
