THE ROLE OF MALAYSIA IN SHAPING THE WORLDS ECONOMY Vision 2020, as being introduced by our beloved former prime

minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in 1991 envisioned Malaysia as worlds education focal point. Eventhough 2020 is not yet arrived; his vision to design world-standard education system in Malaysia is already succeeded. The high-quality education system in Malaysia brought significant increased in numbers of foreign students enrolled in local universities for their tertiary education (Perangkaan Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia, 2009).Research assured that the percentage of enrollment increased each year by year because Malaysia provides distinctive institutions to further their studies especially in engineering, business administration and information and communication technology (ICT) course (Rohana et. Al, 2009). The positive record of foreign student enrollment boost the national economy and as being stated in The Star (2010), foreign students in Malaysia contributed RM6.6 billion annually. The recognition from other countries to let the students further their studies here not only assist the development of nation economy but also concretized Malaysia in worlds map. Furthermore, Malaysia postgraduate students enrollment in local universities also increased distinctively (New Straits Time, 2012). This achievement successfully acknowledged Malaysia as one of the best providers for tertiary education. The increase of enrollment positively affected the growth of Malaysias economic status. Throughout years back, Government of Malaysia subsidized RM400,000 to RM1.2 million for each student who further their studies abroad. However, the student only needed to payback 10 percent from the full amount of scholarship received (Berita Harian, 2012). In the long term, the decrease number of student abroad and the increase of foreign students in Malaysia raise the economic growth time by time. As being stated in Doktor Umum: memoir Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad (2012), Malaysia performed a new strategy on the economical development that focused on the exportation activities and it started in one of the America Latin country, Argentina. Then, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad persuaded Malaysian entrepreneurs to build business empire in other countries. With financial supports from government, there are major records of contractors and entrepreneurs succeeded and actively built projects in every places of the world. Today, Malaysia trade is amount more than RM1.2 billion and RM640 million is gained from exportation activities. Our successful trade activities bring changes on the perspective of other developed countries towards the Malaysia economical strategies and development. As the record of Malaysia trades get increased annually, it positively attracts traders from around the world to invest in Malaysia and thoroughly, boost the nation and worlds economy growth.

Our country has been through rapid changes and holistically developed since 1957 without the support from self-acclaimed world power, United State of America. The decisive leadership and spectacular intellection of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad undeniably open worlds eyes to see Malaysia in a broader perspective. The development of nation education system and its trade activities are the main stream that supported Malaysia economy growth and reinforced the shape of worlds economy. Thus, it faded away Malaysia from the list of Third world countries and emphasizes Malaysia in the worlds map.
