ELECTRICAL 3.1 All motors are premium efficiency design. The nominal efficiency is stamped on the nameplate of the motor. All efficiency testing and labeling are done in accordance with the NEMA MG1 standard. All motors meet or exceed NEMA Premium Efficiency Levels per Table 12-12. Power supply tolerances are: rated voltage 10%; rated frequency 5%; combination of both 10%; and voltage unbalance 1%. Starting duty is per NEMA MG1 Part 12.54, and NEMA MG10 Table 2-3. Stator and rotor conductors have increased cross sectional area for lower losses and increased efficiency. Low-loss electrical grade silicon core steel is used with C5 interlamination insulation. Stator cores are capable of withstanding a 1000o F burnout with a temperature controlled oven. The non-hygroscopic insulation system is rated Class F, with a Class B temperature rise at a 1.15 service factor (445T frame & below-1.0 for 447T & up), with sine-wave power. It is inverter grade with a peak voltage withstand capability of 2000v in 0.1 s rise time. Phase insulation is standard between all phases. End-turns are braced for severe duty starting forces. Windings are dipped and baked in a severe duty, class H, polyester varnish resin with 100% solids for excellent penetration and coverage. An overcoat of red insulating varnish spray is added to the windings for extra protection against moisture, dirt, salt, chemicals, and oil. Stator coils are random wound annealed copper wire. Lead cables are stranded annealed copper wire, with cross-linked polyethylene insulation rated 125C. Leads are permanently identified, inside and outside the frame, and brought out into the motor terminal box through a moisture and oil resistant molded, lead positioning neoprene gasket. Copper alloy, seamless compression type, single-ring terminal lugs are provided for frames 213T and larger. Frames 143T-447T have 3 leads, with multiple strands per lead on N449T and larger. Typical lead lengths are 6 on 143T-184T, 9 on 213T-256T, and 12 on 284T-5810U frames.

Standard rotation is CCW facing the opposite drive end. Reverse any 2 line lead connections to reverse the rotation. 2-Pole frames 444TS and larger require a fan change also for a rotation change. Fan covers are ASTM Grade 20 grey cast iron material. Fan cover mounting holes on the bearing bracket are drilled and tapped. A grease label is on top of the fan cover for frames 284T-5810U. A rotation label is on top of the fan cover for all frames. Frames 143T-215T have a drain plug and a T-drain in each bearing bracket. Frames 254T-365T have T-drains (Qty 2) in the bottom of the frame, and drain plugs (Qty 2) in each bearing bracket for swapping with the T-drains as needed. These automatic T-drains are in the lowest points. Bronze automatic drain and breather plugs (Qty 2) are provided at the lowest points in the motor frame on frames 404T-5810U. A forged, shouldered, metric eyebolt for global availability, and a blind, threaded hole are provided for lifting the motor only on 182T frame and larger. Frame N449T has (Qty 2) cast-in lifting provisions. Motors only in frames 143T-145T should be lifted by (2) people for safety. A shaft slinger seal is supplied on the drive end for added protection against dirt and water on frames 143T-286T. Frames 324T-5810U have IP56 labyrinth shaft seals on both ends. Frames 143T-256T have double sealed, ball bearings on both ends, with lithium grade grease, and without grease fittings or plugs.
