Carbon is an element of the periodic table that is used for many different things.

Strictly speaking, there still to this day is no known discoverer. The closest we can get to finding a discoverer is saying that in 1789 A.L Lavoisier named the element carbon. However, in 1594, D.L.G Harsten and A.G Werner named the substance graphite that was being used in pencils at the time.

Here are some cool scientific facts about Carbon: Carbon is the basis of Organic Chemistry, as it occurs in all living organisms. Carbon is a non metal that can bond its self with many other chemical elements, forming nearly ten million other compounds. Elemental carbon can take form of one of the hardest forms (diamond) or the softest forms (graphite). Carbon is produced in the interior of stars although it was not made by the Big Bang. Pure carbon exists

The melting point of the element of carbon is 3550 degrees Celsius, but even higher, the boiling point is 3825 degrees Celsius! That is very hot indeed! The state of carbon depends on how the particles in the carbon are arranged, however, it is most likely to be at a solid. The chemical symbol of carbon is something very simple, just the letters C, not CA. make sure you do not put CA because that would be calcium! They are to very different things

Carbon fiber
The carbon atoms are bonded together in crystals that are more or less aligned parallel to the long axis of the axis of the fiber. The crystal alignment gives the fiber high strength-to-volume (it means it is strong for size.) Several thousand carbon fibers are twisted together to form a yarn, which may then be used by its self or woven into a fabric. The properties of carbon fibre, such as high flexibility, high tensile strength, low weight, high resistance, high temperature tolerance and low thermal expansion, make them very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military purposes, motorsports, along with other competition sports. However, they are relatively expensive when compared to similar fibers, such as glass or plastic fibers. Carbon fibers are usually combined with other materials to form a composite. When combined with a plastic resin and wound or molded it forms carbon fiber reinforced plastic (often referred to as carbon fiber) which is a very high strength-to-weight, extremely rigid, although a somewhat brittle material. However, carbon fibers are also

Carbon offsetting Carbon offsetting is where someone pays someone else to cut down on his or her share of something, for example, water. If someone wanted to have 5 showers a day, they could pay someone cut down on their own showers, and they would have to skip a shower for the amount of time they have been paid too. This is a good way to reduce your carbon footprint because you will not be using a s much stuff as you would
