Wikispaces is a web-based tool for creating collaborative spaces, called "wikis." Wikis can be shared and edited by a group of people, or settings can be adjusted to limit privileges. "Locked" wiki pages resemble websites and do not allow for collaboration. Bitly is a web-based tool that allows a registered user to take lengthy U.R.L. addresses, shorten them, customize the addresses to make them user-friendly, and monitor usage of links created.

During 2012-2013, I will keep my professional portfolio in the form of a wiki, and I will also introduce th this as a possible tool for the 7 grade Literacy team to share information and documents.
During 2012-2013, I will use Bitly to shorten essential website addresses for students, teachers, and parents. I will also teach students to use Bitly for the purposes of documenting lengthy URLs in their research Works Cited lists.

Aurasma is a web-based tool that enables a user to create, share, and discover virtual content hidden in an aura behind a physical object.

During 2012-2013, I will use Aurasma as part of my Mystery Unit, having a hands-on activity in which students discover clues hidden behind auras. Students may also discover other uses for them in the classroom.
During 2012-2013, I will use iTunes to publish/store student podcasts that are created during our Social Justice units. Students can access their classmates work, and share with parents/community members. This is an application that will have to be on the backburner for 20122013, as it is now only available on iPad, which I will not always have access to in class. Im also not sure its appropriate for student use. I will tinker with it and see what it can do.

Vodio is an application that can be downloaded onto your iPad. It is a personalized video experience where you may discover, watch, and share various channels of video content. It tries to customize content based on your searches and mentions in social networking tools.

Animoto is a Web-based application in which students can create videos from video clips, photos, and music. The free version can only create 30-second movies. You must pay to create longer videos.

During 2012-2013 I think I might subscribe to this and see how it works. We make vocabulary th skits for our 7 grade vocab program. Weve used iMovie, but it is difficult as there are no Macs in our school. During 2012-2013 I would like to use this application to create the products at the end of my 1960s unit, where students create an informational text page on one aspect of the 1960s.
During 2012-2013, I think this will be on the backburner in terms of student useI would rather subscribe to Animoto. I will try to experiment with the shorter videos in delivering messages about tech training to my colleagues.

www.wix.com Voicethread is a Web-based application that stores conversations. Slide shows that include documents, images, and video can be shared with others from anywhere in the world, and others can comment using text, voice, or video.

During the 2012-2013 school year, I would like to continue to update the book promotion Web sites I have created, and try to find a way in which students can add to the sites with their own book promotions. During the 2012-2013 school year, I would like to introduce Voicethread to my grade-level Literacy team as a means of sharing ideas and work, and possibly as a tool for testing inter-rater reliability on common assessments.
