What is Fresh Start English?

Fresh Start English is the outcome of 15 years of first hand teaching and managing experience in China combined with the a Social and Emotional learning approach to education. Each of our courses has been specially designed after many years of research using SEL method and also wide variety of teaching sources based solely on western methods. How long have you been established for? FSE is the idea of our founders. After initially working and later managing in several top International Kindergartens and world class training centers, we established our headquarters in Jiangning, Yingu Mansion in May 2012. Our new Fresh Start English Shengtai Road, branch is already under renovation, and by August 2013 it will be boasting 500 sq.m of brand new space and 10 classrooms with a movie room, and other advanced facilities. What is SEL(social and emotional learning) approach? SEL is a process for helping children develop the fundamental skills for life effectiveness. SEL teaches the skills we all need to handle ourselves, our relationships, and our work, effectively and ethically. These skills include recognizing and managing our emotions, developing caring and concern for others, establishing positive relationships, making responsible decisions, and handling challenging situations constructively and ethically. They are the skills that allow children to calm themselves when angry, make friends, resolve conflicts respectfully, and make ethical and safe choices. Why SEL approach is helpful? Most of the educational institute in USA , UK and Europe that teach SEL skills have now been rigorously evaluated and found to have positive impacts. According to research, schools are a highly effective setting for teaching SEL skills. SEL is also a framework for school improvement. Teaching SEL skills helps create and maintain safe, caring learning environments. SEL helps in recognizing our emotions and learning how to manage those feelings. In dealing with others, SEL helps with developing sympathy and empathy for others, and maintaining positive relationships. SEL also focuses on dealing with a variety of situations in a constructive and ethical manner.

What is your class size? We understand the importance of teacher-student interaction time, keeping that in our mind, our class size are strictly from 5-8 students. Whats the difference between FSE and other training centers/ why should I choose your school? How can English learning and SEL go hand in hand? Why is this method effective? All the teaching materials at FSE are especially constructed, which gives the student a vivid exposure to SEL in an English environment. Students get optimum quality education in a fun environment. Songs Communication,Fingerprints and Outing Class with SEL approach. How will I know that my kid is learning? How can I see the outcome ? We at FSE understand that getting the outcome is very important. At the end of every month, parents can attend the OPEN CLASS to navigate their loved one's progress. There is a evaluation test once every 3-4 weeks and if the students fail the test given the normal attendance we will provide the extra hours. After a year long course the student will be able to have a basic conversation in English. (see video for more info) Would possess a nice vocabulary skills. Able to read most of the 3 letter words. How about the teachers? Are they stable? At FSE we have currently 6 teachers and all of them are TEFL qualified, foreign experts with atleast 3 years of experience in China. A
