About PESIT MBA:

Department of MBA, PESIT was established in 1997 and attracts the best talent across the country both in terms of students and faculty. The faculty mix comprises of 7 Doctorates, FCA, FCS, FICWA, Alumni from IIMA, IIMB, IIMC, IISC and Major IITs of India. The average teaching experience is ten years and industry experience is ten years. Department of MBA is ranked 32 in the Career 360, 2010 published by outlook and ranked 19 (by Pedagogy) in the Business World, 2010. Department of MBA also publishes an International Peer Reviewed bi-annual Journal called 'PES Business Review'. Currently the department is nurturing 14th & 15th batches of students.

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES-2011
Childhood memories some times does pay a second visit in our life. This became evident to all the students of MBA in PESIT. Games like Ball & Bucket, Sudoku, Quiz, Puzzle, Needle & thread, lemon & spoon, Three Legged Race etc., were been conducted as a part of Extended Week Day activities which was named as Childhood Memories. Students from various departments had participated and won the prizes as well. It was a perfect retreat from the busy schedules for all the participants and audiences.

SPORTONOMICS-2011
Cricket, Throw Ball, Relay, 100 meters and 200 meters running races were conducted as part of Sports & Games event for the Semester. Faculty members also participated very actively in these events. Along with students, faculty members Prof. Aiswarya and Arjun V. Singar also won the prizes.

SEMESTER ORIENTATION PROGRAM


This program was conducted at the beginning of the semester to give brief introduction about the subjects, course material, academic and placement policies, discipline guidelines and activities to be conducted in the semester. Sportonomics-2011 Trophies

FIESTA DE RETAIL-RETAIL MELA


Marketing Department under the coordinatorship of Prof.R.Vijayalakshmi organised a Retail Mela cum competition Fiesta de Retail. Retailers from various segments came under one roof to exhibit their products. The purpose of this event to provide management students with an opportunity to understand various aspects of marketing strategies, product promotion and to empower them with various marketing skills, was a grand success.

Seminars are the forums in which issues are raised and explored. These seminars makes us to think and practice to develop the skills of analysis . These seminars helps to bridge the gap between the Industry requirements and Academics. The seminar topics helps students to explore the current prevailing methods, techniques and processes which are adopted in industry and not part of academic syllabus.

SAMSKRUTHI - ETHNIC DAY

Samskruthi means Culture. PES has a long history associated with the joy of celebrating our ethnicity. Samskruthi is a one day program observed to encourage and preserve cultural values in students. Many indoor activities and fun games were conducted. All the Students, Faculty and Staff dressed-up in Ethnic wear, brought a festive atmosphere at the department premises.

HIGH COURT VISIT


A half day visit to Karnataka High Court was organized by Prof. Madhavraj to give first hand experience of court proceedings to the students of second semester. This was done as a part of outbound activity for Business Law subject in second semester.

WALKATHON
In collaboration with India Health Progress an NGO, MBA Department of PESIT organized a walkathon from Cubbon Park to Lalbagh for promoting the awareness among the public towards better healthcare access. Students of both First and Second years along with faculty members participated in the walkathon and made the event a huge success.

3. INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE INNOVATION IN MANAGEMENT


The aim of the conference is to provide a platform to academicians, researchers and industry experts to bring their ideas on innovation in management into perspective. This International Conference looks forward to pool the ideas of all stakeholders to create an opportunity for management innovation to reach the market and the community. This conference has been scheduled on 11th & 12th of August 2011.

4. BI-ANNUAL ALUMNI MEET


As an initiative to maintain healthy contacts with alumni, PES MBA department has decided to organize two alumni meets annually. As a part of this program alumni meets or scheduled on 15th August & 26th January of every year

MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM-MDP

Teachers

Three MDPs on Analytics for Academicians, Researchers and Practitioners were organized during the semester. More than 30 participants were been trained in each of these programs. Participants from Industry, Institutes and many colleges have been trained on research skills in these programs. Dr. Hanuman Kennedy and Prof. R.Vijayalakshmi were the key persons behind the success of these programs.
