The Importance of Logistics in a Global Trade Environment

First I'll start talking about the concept of logistics both personally and as a concept. That is give you my opinion on what for me is the logistics and its importance in this globalized world. What is logistics? In my personal opinin logistics is the proper way to distribute the products available in the market, with their different strategies and in a more agile, thus making the distribution process is efficient and effective. Logistics is a process which requires a high level of creativity, this in my view as it always should look for different ways to improve distribution channels, so that products arrive on time to their final place, and so that they have an excellent marketing, ie the product arrives in a timely manner to where it is expected. Torres 2 Believe that logistics plays a super important if not the most important in the trade and distribution especially because most people do not even know or understand the importance of logistics should know that without it the articles use daily would not be within reach. Just food come from far away, apparel, technology and even culture and is transmitted through the logistics and distribution. Another thing I find very interesting is that the logistics are never going to follow a special process, meaning that although there are effective rules or forms that the distribution is successful, you can always find ways to make it better either time or form. Without the logistical our life as we know it is the same as what I have researched years ago people had to wait for certain times of the year to buy something whether it's food or a product that has only been available in any time of year, or is needed to move from one place to another not caring distance or conditions that might be found. This is just one of many reasons why he found logistics as a necessity. Without an appropriate trade logistics would not be as successful as they consume only a small range of products. Logistics business in the book, Ronald H. Ballou, we mention that there are communities in some countries where most of the population lives in small villages where most of the goods consumed are produced around and very few of these products are imported to other (Ballou) (Long) (Castro) (http://www.businessdictionary.com) (Voortman)

Well now that I've given you some of my thoughts on what for me is the logistics give some definitions: 1. By the Council of Logistics Management ( CLM ) as that part of the supply chain process that plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective flow and storage of godos, services, and related information from point of origin to point of consumption in order to meet customer requirements . 2. By the book of Global Logistics Management as logistics is the process that a commodity (or service) moves througt from the initial custumer order to final consumption of the commodity (or service) bye the customer. 3. By the online Business Dictionary as the planning, execution, and control of the procurement, movement, and stationing of personnel, material, and other resources to achieve the objectives of a campaign, plan, Project, or strategy. It may be defined as the management of inventory in motion and at rest.

Torres 4 The main objective of logistics talking about it in a global environment is much more than a good means of transportation, they are activities that monitor and control the transport, network design and storage of the products that are being marketed. Logistics system: Rapid response: This means that whoever is doing the logistical work should be aware and prepared to act quickly to any developments that may get to present. Besides offering the customer what he needs, so that this is satisfied with the service. Minimum variance: Thus the output of goods and arrival times must be consistent and not going over a set limit. Minimum inventory: Inventory is expensive and should be kept to a minimum. Movement consolidation: The trasportation costs can be reduced by consolidating many small shipments into begger, less frequent shipments. Quality: Not only is it sufficient that the goods or product quality is also the logistics must have all the quality standards that this whole process will complement and be perfect. Life cycle support: This speaks not only point you have to deliver the product, but also that they must return defective products leaving or packaging that can be recycled. Logistics plays a role in my view more important in the global business environment, I feel that it makes sense because if there were no such relationships and (Ballou) (Long) (Castro) (http://www.businessdictionary.com) (Voortman)

Torres 5 agreements between different countries of the world, many people, communities, even entire cities would not know what the other side of the world, this is a reason of great weight to say that logistics leads us to be a more globalized world. A world where there is no need to travel to learn about other cultures, other textures, new fashion, a world where there is no limit. Trade is world renowned for the exchange of goods and services, but the exchange of goods and services would not be possible without a good logistics management, good distribution in the goods they handle different companies around the world. So important is logistics these days for companies that have designed specific areas to make this work as complete, where those who do this work must meet the needs of thousands of customers around the world. Companies that have a good global logistics have a better public image and increasing their level of quality and the better is their logistics better your reputation. There is strong competition among companies today is for this reason that logistics should be efficient and effective to have that plus all our customers seek. The more it grows the market companies face increased competition as well as to export to import, then this is where a service logistics becomes a necessity that traded goods reach proficiency levels in the process of economic globalization. Torres 6 Global logistics priority is to improve the quality at all times, as well as to plan and control the activities being carried out to improve the logistics company internationally. Logistics in the global environment should always be looking for the market expansion as the product being marketed, this basis to improve, modify or change their competitive strategies. Never stop innovating in this area is the international logistics since the market is increasingly competitive and can always be someone to go one step ahead of us as far as logistics are concerned, which is why earlier mentioned that companies have a single department responsible for this area. As a conclusion to this essay I consider the importance of logistics in a global trading environment, are the advantages of this can be drawn to an improvement in the company, meaning that the logistics are of great importance to transnational corporations that without this area could not have a market competitiveness.

Torres 7 We should also mention that logistics is not only transporting final products but goes beyond, can transport themselves from raw material to finished product and, therefore without a good logistics system in our company would not have a great future ahead . On whether the priority of logistics in the global environment is to achieve total satisfaction for the consumer as well as a sense of quality.
