: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: 1) Recite jazz chants through performance using correct

pronunciation. 2) Identify the numbers at least 5 out of 6 in the chant correctly. 3) Create a birthday card to a friend.

Set Induction ( 5mins) 1. Teacher introduces numbers using flashcards with correct pronunciation. 2. Teacher asks pupils to repeat after her. 3. Teacher randomly picks some pupils to read aloud the numbers on the flashcard. Presentation (15mins) Step 1 (10mins) 4. Teacher introduces a simple chant entitled Numbers Everywhere 5. Teacher together with the pupils recite the chant. 6. Teacher gets pupils to recite the chant with correct pronunciation 7. Teacher randomly picks the pupils to underline the numbers in the chant. Step 2 (5mins) 8. Teacher demonstrates how to create the birthday card.

Using flashcard of numbers: 30, 20, 15, 12, 24, 22

Prepare a decorated colour paper

Practice (20mins) 9. Teacher distributes colour papers to each of the pupil. 10. Teacher asks the pupils to choose a friend. 11. Teacher asks the pupils to create a birthday card for the chosen friend.

Creative work to enhance pupils creativity

Every pupil must choose different friend so that everyone in the class will get a card. Teacher walks around and helps the pupils

Production (15mins) 12. Teacher asks the students to come forward and show the cards. 13. Teacher asks the pupils to give the cards to their friends. 14. Teacher writes birthday songs lyric on a whiteboard 15. Teacher asks pupils to sing a birthday song Happy Birthday to You Closure (5mins) 16. Teacher asks the pupil what they feel when they received a birthday card.
