CHUM CHUM
• Wide-eyed, innocent. Often gullible. A sweet simple soul.
• A 3-year-old stuck in 8-year-old body
• Less articulate. Sincere, never glib. No guile.
• Often makes sounds or action instead of verbal reply. Occasional little kid speech
• A touch of Ralph Wiggam
• ER open to male/female playing part.
KYLE
• Grandiose, melodramatic (think Dr. Smith from “Lost in Space” meets “Harry
Potter’s” Draco Malfoy)
• British prep school accent. Refined, articulate.
• He feels superior, yet he’s impotent, often frustrated.
• Can be sarcastic, condescending, withering (a la Squidward)
• Open to “hearing” his braces
OZ
• 34 going on 13. An overgrown pre-teen boy. Totally into playing.
• Very knowledgeable, but emotionally immature. Adolescent.
• Powerless, whiny, weak when dealing with his mother
• A touch of Napoleon Dynamite
• Voice: pubescently high. (poss. Reference: Henchman #1 from “Venture Bros.”)
YO
• Asian. 11-years-old. No accent.
• Bouncy, fun. Sweet. Lives in a happy colorful bubble
• Can’t resist anything cute. It’s her kryptonite.
• Stubborn when she wants something. Pours on the sugar, plays up her cuteness to
get what she wants. Like a kid who wants to keep a stray puppy.
• Fickle. Enthralled one minute, bored the next.
LENNY
• 17-year-old, African-American, mild urban vibe (think Nick Cannon)
• think of him as a whiny teenager who doesn’t want to do his chores. Poor coping
skills. Always ready to crack, near the point of tears. Weak.
• Beleaguered/put upon. Just wants to curl up in a ball and hide.
• Feels he can’t escape Fanboy. Dreads him.
• Note: Lenny will be our all-purpose teenage store clerk. He will work a variety
of jobs around town, where he will be plagued by Fanboy.
BOOG
• Acts like he’s the star quarterback
• Obnoxious. A user. Can be a bully. Huge ego.
• Think Bill Murray from “Kingpin” meets Ben Affleck from “Dazed & Confused”
MARSHA
• The character is basically an 11 yr. old hardened convict. Cold, calculated,
controlled. Actually savors her revenge, enjoys watching Fanboy squirm. (a la
Max Cady in “Cape Fear”)
• Becomes a docile kindergartner at the drop of a hat. Loves graham crackers and
nap-time.
• Voice: poss. Joan Cusack quality, but without manic energy
• Open to “hearing” an overbite, lisp, braces
LUPE
• 11-year-old, Mexican
• lovey-dovey and menacing at the same time
• possibly like Carla Jimenez’s character in NACHO LIBRE
OZ’s MOM
• poss. Eastern European, broken English.
• poss. Gravelly smoker-voice (think Selma Diamond)
