The Nathan Yip Foundation From the mountainous villages of rural China, to rural Mexico and Africa, to its home state of Colorado, the Nathan Yip Foundation has been making a difference in the lives of children. In China, the Foundation has built, funded, and continuously supported seven schools and two orphanages. The Foundation has also built a dormitory in Loreto, Baja Mexico, continuously supports an orphanage in Juarez, Mexico, and supports several educational projects throughout Africa. Locally, the Nathan Yip Foundation has supported such projects as Escuela de Guadalupe, Colorado Uplifts My Book Foundation, Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families, Asian Pacific Development Center, Summer Scholars, IB ARMS MYP Student Summit, Healing Hands of Hope, and has provided a four-year scholarship for a student at the University of Denver. The Foundation is committed to donating 100% of funds raised to underprivileged children around the world. The Nathan Yip Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 2002 by Denver residents Jimmy and Linda Yip, after they tragically lost their only child, Nathan, in an automobile accident when he was just 19 years old. The Nathan Yip Foundation, inspired by the life of Nathan Yip, seeks to provide educational access, empowerment and ongoing support to vulnerable youth throughout the world, giving them the tools to become productive, contributing citizens within their communities. Position Summary The Social Media Intern is an enthusiastic, highly organized and resourceful self-starter who has a passion for working through the social media platform. This central role will provide part-time support to the founders, Board of Directors, volunteer committees, and foundation supporters. Responsibilities include website and social media management, designing and producing marketing/collateral materials, and managing a blog. These include, but are

not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Wordpress, and helping the Nathan Yip Foundation reach a larger audience within our social media accounts. Key Responsibilities - Manage, update and grow organizations contact lists in Excel and Constant Contact databases. - Work with PR and marketing volunteers to write content for press releases, Constant Contact e-newsletter, etc. - Manage website content and update events page for ticket sales to each event. Education/Experience/Qualifications - Proven experience with proficiency in Constant Contact, Microsoft Office Suite (especially MS Word labels and form letters and Excel), and various social media. QuickBooks and Wordpress experience a plus. -Great writing skills that are both short and appealing for social media. - Cultural proficiency and a passion for the foundations mission and values. Experience studying or living abroad and knowledge of other languages a plus. - Creative problem solving skills and ability to think outside the box to come up with more productive ways of streamlining processes. Project management skills a plus. - High degree of flexibility and adaptability with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and successfully complete projects with little or no supervision. - Proven written, oral, interpersonal, and intercultural communication and presentation skills; attention to detail and deadlines; well organized and highly dependable. - Technologically savvy with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues, learn new software and seek out new technologies to streamline processes. Compensation: Summer stipend commensurate with experience. Hours: Part-time position with approximately 20-25 hours a week with occasional evening and weekend hours depending on event production cycle, meetings and events scheduled. This position is a self-developed internship. You can work from home but will be expected to turn in a weekly report and meet with the Program Coordinator weekly to go over content and check in.
