F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? Informal assessment through group discussions, illustrations and journal entries will be used to measure student understanding. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. I will know students understand this concept when they can accurately describe similarities and differences between a city, town and suburb. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think this will be a really easy lesson to teach. The easiest part to teach might be the concept that there are different types of communities and not every neighborhood is the same 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? The most challenging part of this lesson to teach might be the differentiation between a town and a suburb. I think they are a lot alike and students might now understand the difference between them 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? We will continue talking about different types of communities in future lessons where these concepts will be extended and talked about more. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? I will pull small groups and re-teach the concepts that students dont understand. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I dont think any part of this lesson will need to be changed. I think this is a good lesson to teach young students about the differences in communities.
