Expect the Unexpected

Every show is different. Nobody knows what to expect, but the end results are always mind-blowing. The concept aims to put a playful twist on the phrase expect the unexpected. This resonates within the college, as students always exceed expectations and often produce unexpected results.

These are a few examples of how the concept can be manipulated to communicate different things. We have gone for three variations that throw off the expectations of the human form.

We wanted to be as consistent as possible throughout the visual identity of the concept. Although the formats of the page are different, this board aims to demonstrate how the imagery and the concept can be applied to various media.

Expect the Unexpected

We chose to reverse the conventional invite format, image on the back and info on the front, which follows suit with the unexpected concept. The blind embossing adds a little consideration and will prove to the receiver that they are important and respected within the Leeds College of Art community.

Over the last 160 years, Leeds College of Art has contributed significantly to the development of art education in Britain, having pioneered new ways to teach and to structure qualifications. The End of Year Show is a chance for our students to expose their talent, and show the world what theyre made of. This year aims to set new boundaries, to set the bar even higher. Expect the unexpected.

Expect the Unexpected

The flyer aims to reflect the poster and inform the reader about key information of the event. It aims to be simple, and straight to the point whilst being visually striking.
