For well over seventy years the City of Gold, Oroville, has had a hometown celebration, now known as the Feather Fiesta Days. It includes a grand parade, the gigantic car show, craft fairs, mini-festivals and a chili cook-off. Feather Fiesta Days events actually starts May 5th and runs through Saturday, May 11th which culminates with the Grand Parade at 10 a.m. in Historic Downtown Oroville and a host of activities and events, including the car show. Car, Bike and Cruise Night is Monday, May 6th at Feather Falls Casino from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Be sure and wear your dancing shoes because Marty Martin of The Western Swing Societies Hall of Fame will be providing toe tapping songs of country greats for ya all. Want a little help getting ready for the car show? Visit Pastime Auto Wash and talk to them about their automobile detailing, or, if your just cruising though, let them put a smile on that machine of yours. They are located on the way to Feather Falls Casino at 2610 Olive Hwy, Oroville. Bunco de Tres at the Historic Monday Club with cash prizes, door prizes and refreshments on Friday, May 3rd may not be the Feather Falls Casino, but many have as much fun when they play Bunco. Speaking of Healthy Habits, the fantasy/ musical, I Wish, a Modern Day Wizard of Oz will presented at the State Theatre in downtown Oroville at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18th. This is the only open to the public performance of I Wish. About 1,100 children will have been bused to see this play earlier in the week.
