Second Meeting of the Steering Committee on

Members Present List enclosed as Annexure - 1 Introductory Remarks by Ar Vidur Bharadwaj Ar Vidur Bharadwaj, Chairman, IGBC Delhi Chapter welcomed the members for the meeting. He mentioned that the IGBC Annual Conference 'Green Building Congress 2011' is scheduled in Delhi during the third week of October 2011. He mentioned that IGBC Delhi Chapter would like to make this event a landmark event and this event has been timed aptly where there is major construction boom. He then requested Dr Prem C Jain, Chairman, Indian Green Building Council to address the gathering. Address by Dr Prem C Jain Dr Prem C Jain thanked all the Core Committee members for extending their support and glorifying the event of Green Building Congress 2011. He mentioned that Green Building movement is making more & more momentum. Green Building Congress is one such activities of IGBC in advancing the green building movement. He mentioned that the event needs lot of support from the stakeholders in terms of finance and visibility. He then requested Mr M Anand, Senior Counsellor, CII Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre, to brief the members on the green building movement and the updates.

Green Building Movement & Green Building Congress Mr M Anand made a detailed presentation on the green building movement and green building congress. The highlights of the presentation are: Green Building Movement v Green Building Congress is one of the essential pillars of green building movement. Green building movement and green building congress are in the upward spiral. This is the impact that has happened so far for the last 10 years. v He has mentioned that IGBC is receiving overwhelming support from all the stakeholders in terms of membership. IGBC as on date crossed the 100 landmark in terms of Lifetime membership. He thanked all the members for this achievement. v As on date, 1210 green building have been registered with IGBC, which is considered as the second largest in the world in terms of 846 million sq feet of green building footprint, next to USA. As on today, there are 12 chapters including the recent launch of 3 more Chapters Goa, Vadodara and Coimbatore. By the end of April 2011. IGBCs aspiration is to have 18 Chapters by the end of this year, all over the country. v He then presented on the IGBC and Government partnership in terms of advancing this movement, which include Faster Environmental Clearance by MoEF for the projects applying for IGBC Green Building Certification, Development of Guidelines by IGBC and Environment Department of Govt of Maharashtra, Initiatives of Govt of Hyderabad in terms of Green Channel, etc., v He highlighted the members on the Challenges & Opportunities in advancing the green building movement. He requested the members for their leadership and more involvement in taking this movement to greater heights v He also mentioned that the proposed Green Building Congress 2011 at Delhi has been aimed at enabling green building movement in the country and address the Challenges & Opportunities that we are facing today in the green building movement. Dr Satish Kumar, Schneider Electric 1. Suggested IGBC to highlight the number of registered projects and certified projects and benefits achieved by these buildings in terms of mitigation and etc. 2. Also stressed the need for evaluating the performance of these buildings and sharing it in the public domain. Mr V Suresh, HIRCO 1. Requested IGBC team to approach National Housing Bank for involving them in Green Homes 2. Mentioned that IGBC certified or Registered projects from builders/developers community can be potential sponsors under Silver sponsorship category Ms Neetu Jain, Aesthetic Solutions Suggested to promote Net-Zero building during the event. Dr Jain suggested her to join with Ms Sheetal Rakheja to incorporate Aesthetic Solutions products such as no VOC etc.

Mr Ashish Bahal, Philips 1. Suggested to explore the possibilities of transforming the Green Building Congress 2011 into Green Building Festival by involving more people. 2. Also suggested that the event can be posted on the TEDx website for promotion. Webinar & Live Coverage: 1. Ms Priya Vakhil suggested the possibility of exploring the Webinar, Live Coverage on chargeable basis and can view no download basis

2. Dr Satish Kumar, Schneider Electric also expressed his interest in joining hands with Webinar and guide IGBC team in evaluating the resources required for the same. 3. Mr Sandeep Shikre, SSA Architects expressed his support in the Webinar Mr Hardeep Singh, Forbo Flooring India Suggested to have series of Road shows in Chandigarh ,Jaipur and all the other Norther Regions of the country to promote the Green Building Congress 2011 as it is being held at New Delhi and also expressed that the road shows will attract many people to participate in the event. Mr Vaibhav Satpute, TULS Management Mr Vaibhav Satpute from TULS Management mentioned that IEEMA can be requested to host the Green Building Congress 2011 details in their website to have more visibility / reach out of the event. He has also agreed to help IGBC in getting the contact details and other formalities required for the same. Dr Jain thanked members on their suggestions & interactions. He informed that the suggestions made during this meeting will be incorporated and the revised programme structure will be circulated shortly. The meeting ended with concluding remarks by Mr Vidur Bharadwaj, who thanked all the members for the participation and requested for their support in wider dissemination of this event and more participation.
