The theme of Daniels story is to have courage and learn to fight for survival. Daniel in this book had courage to rebel against the S.S soldiers and used his survival skills to remain alive during the death camp in Auschwitz. He And he his dad did whatever they could to stay alive in the ghetto, the death camp, and in the liberation. He showed a great example of the storys theme. He and he his father were very lucky and blessed to not be killed Through the holocaust times. Even though Daniel lost his mom, sister, uncles,aunts, and cousins he still showed hope that he was going to survive and win the war.
