ABOUT HCLT

In the new century of 2000 a beginning of a new trend came in the IT market: outsourcing of engineering services. A majority of manufacturing services, such as research and development (R&D), was being outsourced and could be delivered to an original equipment manufacturer from any part of the world. By 2000 HCL Had become a leading provider of business transformation, enterprise and infrastructure and BPO. Marking HCLS growth rate around 29% in 2011. The all total HCLT ERS market was around $ 1100 million in 2009. It was said to be a cost effective way of procuring engineering services. The Indian ERS off shoring was fast growing and a $40 billion growth is expected in 2020. HCLT was embedding themselves deeper into the value chain of their global customers through such innovative tools as EOOTB. New trends such as outsourcing of engineering services became a prominent player in the market. A majority of manufacturing services, such as research and development (R&D), were outsourced and could be delivered to an original equipment manufacturer from any part of the world. The profile of the ERS market was also changing. The complexity of the services being outsourced was going up. Services such as prototyping, tooling, manufacturing support, program management and supplier management was going up. HCL focused on transformational outsourcing functioned for value creation and innovation. Hence, the division was prepared to deliver a concept like EOOTB. Reasons for EBOOTS launch. Over a decade, HCL ERS had been doing core product development work for customers and providing total product development and life cycle services. It had a very strong domainbased, product engineering background. This gave them edge to give something more prominent in and innovative to their clients.

EOOTB ( ENGINEERING OUT OF THE BOX) HCL was able to understand the importance of solutions models for expanding innovation and differentiating from competitors. The company has developed a novel approach for helping companies innovate called Engineering Out of the Box (EOOTB). HCL now able to offer solutions in all sphere: the core product, its surrounding ecosystem, user experience.

The comprehensive approach is important for companies invested in developing solutions for their clients. The size of services that EOOTB gives also allowed HCL to become a full R&D partner, and not merely an outsourcing vendor for companies. EOOTB was made by selecting a team of 500 from among its engineers and managers to create EOOTB as the process by which HCLT would transform itself from a product services company to a solutions and services company . The new EOOTB model was coiled on a process where the templates, business stacks and customer-unique ideas were formed into 16 standardized products and then released to different industries as needed. Team Of EOOTB : Global team of 15,000 of the best managers and engineers from across the company. Partnerships with Fortune 1,000 companies across key industries and was increasing its investments in generating intellectual property.

HCLs unique EOOTB approach became significant because it: Expands a products ecosystem by focusing on solutions, Minimizes a companys time to market, and Increases the products adoption by focusing on user need and experience
