Contact: Kent Hudson khudson@scrllc.net 918-366-7279 Location Michigan Job Title Instrument Reliability Advisor Job Status: Direct Hire Job Description Overall, the position entails being the focal point for field instrumentation issues and fostering reliability improvements by focusing on improving the programs in place, identifying required training needs and spare parts, auditing outside services, and evaluating the resources needed to complete the required repairs. Duties/Responsibilities Listed below are the main responsibilities of the Instrument Reliability Advisor position: Support the area foremen, craft personnel, and contractors by providing field direction and information needed to effectively and efficiently complete required repair and installation in a manner that will provide reliable operation. Develop and conduct training for craft personnel to ensure that they have the skills necessary to correctly trouble shoot and repair instrumentation. Participate in reliability investigations and make recommendations for additional equipment, materials or services that would improve the reliability of equipment. Develop turnaround work scopes for instrument equipment. Review contractor services and establish responsibilities of outside contractors for support. Work with the area planners in developing job plans and provide equipment purchase information. Identify reliability, spare parts, and PM/PdM requirements for new/existing instruments and make recommendations to the Instrument Reliability Engineer. Review engineering construction drawing and equipment purchases to identify reliability concerns. Define the scope and track the status of work in outside shops and provide information on the schedule and cost of the repairs.

Evaluate PM and repair work completed on equipment to ensure activities are effective and accurately documented. Identify, purchase, and oversee the maintenance of specialty and test equipment as applicable to assist the area planners. Review operating procedures and provide training to operations personnel for OPM work related to instruments. Maintain instrumentation vendor software (ex:Hart Communicator device drivers, calibrator documentation software). Have a working knowledge of ISA standards including ISA 84 (process safety standard) and provide recommendations for shut down system testing. Display a commitment to training and continuous improvement through innovation. Foundation Fieldbus experience is a plus.

Education B.S. Electrical Engineering degree required and 3 years minimum experience in the refining or petrochemical industry.
