1. First I will explain to the students that today we are reviewing of the material we learned in our Social Studies Unit The World in Spatial Terms. We will be doing centers that have different activities to help us review. We will be working in groups of 4. 2. At each center there will be an instruction sheet explaining each center. o At the first center there will be index cards with either a vocabulary term or definition written on them. Each student will have about five cards each. They will play a game of Go Fish with the terms and definitions. The students can play this game several times until the students feel like they are familiar with the terms and their definitions. At the second center students write a 2-4-paragraph essay about if they were traveling through the different regions of Nevada. What they might see and experience. If they finish before it is time to switch they will peer edit their essays. At the third center students will create four different maps of Nevada. They can choose any map they want but they must create four different kinds and write two to three sentences explaining what that particular map is used for. At the fourth center students will be measuring distances and directions of locations from Las Vegas. For example, how far and in what direction is Carson City from Las Vegas?

3. After all of the groups have completed the centers we will discuss them. Which ones they found difficult. If they would like to share any of their essays or maps they will be able to at this time. We will also discuss some of the terms and concepts that we learned in the unit. 4. CLOSURE: After the whole group discussion I will have the students help put away the supplies and remind them that their test is tomorrow. So make sure they are prepared for it. F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? I will use the maps and essays created to measure understanding. I will also be walking around the classroom observing the students in the centers, checking to see which students are struggling. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. I will know whether students understand the concepts from the lesson by grading the maps and essays. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach?

I think the easiest part of the lesson will be to explain to the students that we are reviewing for the test today. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? I think the most difficult part will be teaching the students how to figure out the map scale and distance from the cities. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? I will follow up this lesson with the unit test. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? If a student doesnt grasp the concept I will send a review worksheet for homework. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I may need to modify the time spent at each center; it may be too long or too short. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? The most difficult part of writing this lesson plan was typing it all. Resources:
