Introduction
We use pizza to fuel our bodies because we are too lazy to cook for ourselves. Pizza is your typical college meal being both affordable and delicious. Our goal is to find the best pizza for college students in Denton. To meet this goal, we considered three major pizza chains located around campus. During our research we considered three options. These are options are as followed: Option 1: Pizza Hut Option 2: Dominos Pizza

Option 3: Papa Johns Pizza

In our report, we determine what the best pizza is for college students. This is to benefit low-income college students who are searching for a good price without sacrificing quality.

Methods of Evaluating

We used four criteria for evaluating your typical large pepperoni pizza. Location Taste Price Service Time

Location We obtained the distance from each restaurant starting from the Union (middle of campus). Timed how long it took to reach each location. Taste We took a survey around campus to see what students preferred. When evaluating this information we neglected all other variables. We also measured the groups personal preference. Also we based the taste of each pizza on a scale of 1-5.

We gathered our information through the following test.

Price We obtained the average price for a large pepperoni pizza for each restaurant.

Serving Time

We then took into account the price of gas consumed to reach each location.

We timed how long it took from the order being placed to the time it took to prepare the pizza. We then timed how long it took to drive to each location.

Results of the Evaluation

After collecting all the data for the pizza chains, we analyzed the overall results. These are the results as followed:

Dominos
In the category of location, Dominos Pizza was exactly 1.9 miles and took 6 minutes to drive from the Union to destination. In the category of taste Dominos Pizza received a 3 out of 5 rating. The sauce lacked level of zest we were expecting. In the category of price, the price for a typical large pepperoni pizza was $12.99, which was close to the average price of the other pizza chains. Also we took into consideration that it took 48 cents in gas mileage to pick up the pizza. In the category of serving time, Dominos took about 17 minutes to prepare which ranked second in our results. Overall results Dominos Pizza ranked second in our test, disregarding the price.

Papa Johns

In the category of location, Papa Johns Pizza was exactly 2 miles and took 7 minutes to drive from the Union to destination. In the category of taste Papa Johns Pizza received a 4.5 out of 5 rating. We felt as a group that Papa Johns pizza tasted best out of the selection of pizza chains. In the category of price, the price for a typical large pepperoni pizza was $11.99, which was tied with Pizza Hut for the lowest price. Also we took into consideration that it took 50 cents in gas mileage to pick up the pizza. In the category of serving time, Papa Johns took about 15 minutes to prepare which ranked first in our results. Overall results Papa Johns Pizza ranked first in our test, disregarding the gas mileage price.

Pizza Hut

In the category of location, Pizza Hut Pizza was exactly 2.1 miles and took 7 minutes to drive from the Union to destination. In the category of taste Pizza Hut received a 2.5 out of 5 rating. We felt as a group that although Pizza Hut wasnt bad, there seemed to be nothing special to set it apart from the rest of the pizza chains. The three pizza chains had similar prices and distance. Papa Johns had the highest satisfaction in taste and preparation time; this resulted in a first place rating in our group test. Dominos Pizza scored first in gas mileage price, they also had the second highest satisfaction in taste and preparation time; this resulted in a second place rating in our group test. Pizza Hut had an overall low satisfaction rating in all categories.

Recommendation

For all college students with a low budget income, we recommend Papa Johns as an ideal pizza chain based on the four categories of price, taste, location, and service time. We feel college students will receive the most bang for their buck.
