Notes Group 4: Bio, Phys, Chem interim due dates: All Laboratory Reports will be due one week after completion of the practical component of the experiment. Italian B interactive oral tests will be organised at suitable intervals by the teacher. All IAs and EAs involving research must observe the highest standards of academic honesty and be submitted via Turnitin. The above dates are accurate at the time of publication, but may need to change due to circumstances unforeseen. When changes occur an updated calendar will be issued to students and parents. This schedule is for official IB Internal and External Assessment tasks only. Your teachers will issue you with assessment programs for each subject showing the deadlines and method of aggregating marks for class tasks leading to school report marks. These deadlines must be taken very seriously and infringements will incur penalties as set out briefly below and in more detail in the Assessment Information for Years 11 and 12 IB Students and Parents available on the IB Portal. Penalties for Late Submission of IB Internal and External Assessment Tasks Interim Deadlines In normal circumstances, where a boy is late handing in an interim component of an IB Assessment task, and the reason is not illness (as outlined on a doctors certificate), a one-hour detention (or an equivalent determined by Mr Meakin) will be issued by the subject teacher, and the Head of the IBDP, the students Mentor, the Head of House and the parents will be immediately informed of the situation by email. A new interim deadline for the component will be set for the student. If the student misses this deadline a further one hour detention (a second verbal warning for Prefects) will be issued by the subject teacher and a formal warning letter will be sent home by the Head of the IBDP to the effect that the student is in danger of not completing the task by the final deadline and therefore of not passing the subject and/or meeting requirements to qualify for the Diploma. Boys are reminded that the accumulation of verbal warnings has significant implications for their prefecture. Final Deadlines Failure to submit an IB Assessment task on the final due date, and the reason is not illness (as outlined in a doctors certificate), will result in the student being issued with a two hour detention by the Head of the IBDP and a formal letter being sent home. During the detention the student will work on the task and at the end hand the result to the Head of the IBDP for submission to the IBO. This will mean that the student will be able to submit something for assessment, rather than not meeting the IBOs requirements to pass the subject and therefore not qualifying for the award of the Diploma. Dr Allan Pride Head of the IB Diploma Programme 14 February 2013
