Project Title: Policy Development Title of Volunteer Role: Policy Development Writer Projects Purpose & Organisations Mission:

Tourism is by far the most significant activity in the Borough of Queenscliffe, accounting for at least 45% of the local economy and contributes to the viability of 275 local businesses. Supporting this industry is vital to the community and the Queenscliff Visitor Information Centres (QVIC) key focus and purpose. The QVIC plays a major role in the promotion of the area by providing information to the 46,500 people who visited the centre each year. The QVIC has a range of policies that need developing: Emergency Evacuation Policy; Refund Policy; Souvenir Policy; Social Media Policy; Ticketing Policy; Volunteer Policy. The development is essential to the effective function of our facility and ensures a high standard of operations. Required Qualifications/Experience: The correct candidate will be articulate and have high level of oral and written literacy skills Some experience and/or training in developing policies is necessary Computer skills are essential particularly MSWord Excellent organisational skills Estimated Time Commitment: Approximately 30 hours eg 2 hours per week or 8 hours per month flexible times to be arranged to suit both parties. Position description: This position may suit an individual or small group of 2 or 3 people. You will be responsible for the development one or more policies relevant to the daily operations of the Queenscliffe Visitor Information Centre. The QVIC has an operations manual in which the volunteers and staff refer. They also have procedures that can be implemented into respective policies. In addition, access to other Victorian Information Centres and their policies can be sourced. Outcomes of Project: To have clearly articulated policy/policies relevant to the effective management of QVIC operations and practices as required by our Tourism Accreditation. Benefits: 1. Location: You are welcome to work at the QVIC and computer access and a place to work in our office will be provided. Alternatively you can work from home.
