BASIC NON LIFE COURSE

One of the primary objectives of the insurance industry and the Insurance Commission is to promote professionalism of insurance people especially the operations staff of insurance companies, its branches and agencies, and its general agents and brokers. They all render services to the insurance industry. The insuring public expects proper and correct service. Therefore, there is a need to professionalize them through intensive basic training in insurance. This course will provide the basic foundation for a sound training in insurance. This serves as a pre-licensing course for non-life insurance agents in lieu of taking and passing the pre-licensing examination of the Insurance Commission. The first three (3) sections of the course will also serve as the Fundamentals of Insurance Course, the first in the eleven professional designation courses leading to the Associateship of IIAP. Those intending to pursue the professional designation course must attend and pass the first three sections before they can proceed to the next course or they may complete the entire course if they want to qualify for license as non-life insurance agents or soliciting officials of corporate agents or general agents. In either case, passing Sections I, II and III of the course will give the students credits for Fundamentals of Insurance. This course is intended for every one choosing insurance as a career and those already working in insurance companies, brokerage houses and insurance agencies who desire to round out their knowledge and sharpen their skills in insurance preparation for higher responsibilities and more rewarding benefits.
