The United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP), local church of Kitcharao believes that the Church is the body of Christ (I Cor. 12:27) speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every joint with which it is supplied, when each part is working properly, makes bodily growth and upbuilds itself in love (Eph. 4:15-16) By 1950, UCCP Kitcharao started as an outreach area of UCCP-Mainit with 5 worshipping families namely; Cabalan, Lanzon, Tidalgo, Alsong and Tinambacan. The group started its worship life in Tidalgo residence. After 15 years, the church encountered several challenging experiences such as; typhoon, divergence among members and poverty. But by Gods guidance and grace, the membership of the Church amplified. They continued their worship in A l song Residence until they were able to build a permanent building for worship by 1970. During this time they were still part of Surigao District Conference. But in 1989, UCCP Kitcharao was formally accepted as part of Agusan District Conference. It was confirmed by the UCCP General Assembly in Cebu City on the following year. Today, UCCP Kitcharao continues to grow in faith and actively involve in Christ ministries with 42 families.
