EXECUTIVE SUMMERY
The report is based on 3 months working experience on Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited (EXIM Bank Ltd.). I was assigned in the Sitakunda Branch, EXIM Bank Ltd. This report gives a clear idea of the activities, operational strategies and the performance of EXIM Bank Ltd. EXIM Bank Ltd. incorporated in 1999 and became operational on 3rd August, 1999 as per rules and regulations of Bangladesh Bank. But in July, 2004 the Bank has migrated into Shariah based Islamic Banking. This internship report has been prepared on the General Banking Activities of EXIM Bank, Sitakunda Branch. I will discuss about the Banking system of different departments and all of their products & services for their customers. I will mention the organization structure of EXIM Bank and the organizational structure of Sitakunda Branch. EXIM Bank has a Shariah Council, which basically monitors and decides all the Shariah based activities for the Bank. Today banks have become a part and parcel of our life. They accelerate the economic growth of a country and steer these wheels of the economy towards it self reliance in all fields. In case of Import-Export, EXIM Bank of Bangladesh Limited shows better performance than the other banks. The Import & Export business of Exim Bank of Bangladesh Limited has a gradual increasing trend from 1999. In order to capture higher market share than the competitors. The policy of these regards should be reviewed and it should be more flexible and competitive than the present. The whole report consists of five chapters. Chapter two and chapter three are on EXIM bank limited and about it general banking services. Chapter four shows the deposit, investment, and profit at Sitakunda Branch. In chapter five, I have shown the strength, weakness, threat and opportunities of EXIM Bank Ltd. and its future prospects. This chapter also shows the problems and prospects and recommendations. The working environment of EXIM Bank Ltd. is very conductive and friendly. The staffs are specialized in their respective fields. Each of them works on their own and there is close supervision from the top. The motivation of the employees, I believe coming from the very sense of responsibility. Each member is individually responsible for his or her work. My overall experience had been very fascinating and I believe internship period of EXIM Bank Ltd. will definitely help me a lot in building my future career.
