Jumaa Prayer
for the Muslims of Africa and beyond
Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!
The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the LORDs doing; it is marvelous in our eyes (Ps 118:22-23).

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

SENEGAL: An alumnus writes, Pray for a young Muslim lady who has given her life to the Lord Jesus but who is afraid that her parents will learn this and persecute her. Pray for God's peace, wisdom, and leading as she learns to walk in faith. Also, this pastor has just begun a month of teaching in his church on how to evangelize in a Muslim milieu. Pray that this teaching and its application will bear much fruit. Update on Brazilian missionaries Jose Dilson and Zeneide: These missionaries were held in prison for 5 months and released on April 5. They are still awaiting trial and make contact weekly with the authorities. The orphanage work continues, but they cannot be involved at this time. A former missionary asks that we pray that the judge give them full acquittal, and full permission to continue working. But on the larger scale, that the court would see that this is religious persecution, which is outlawed in Senegal, and also that they would enforce the laws against the marabouts who mistreat the children in the name of 'teaching them strength through hard times.' Pray also for their full recovery, as their health was affected in prison.

In the News
As war continues to rage in Syria, churches there have called for a Day of Prayer for Syria on Saturday, 11 May. Believers will meet wherever they are able around the country, and leaders ask that brothers and sisters around the world pray with them for their nation. Specific prayer requests sent from Syria include: (1) Healing for the injured and comfort for those who have lost loved ones, (2) an end to the bloodshed, (3) the children; their childhood has been stolen from them, (4) that unity and reconciliation among the churches will continue, and (5) that Christians will be rooted in their own land without fear of violence. Let's pray that many find Jesus in the midst of this crisisincluding those who are perpetrating it! He died so they too might live and love. Learn more at http://bit.ly/15HCe0V.

From Global Initiative*

Pray for Christians engaged in prison ministry to Muslims in the European penal system. The percentage of Muslims in the prison population is much higher than the percentage of Muslims living in a given country. For example, Muslims make up around 3% of the population of Spain, but 70% of its prison population. Some are radicalized in prison. Pray for wisdom for believers who visit the prisoners with Good News. Pray that they will be permitted to minister freely, and that the Holy Spirit will prepare hearts to receive their message.

For Muslim Women**

Please pray for a caf ministry that opens in a Muslim country in May and for leadership as they train and prepare for the women God is preparing them to serve.
