1. Mohr stated the she and Nicole DeWitt and Jacob Cary left the school grou.~da at about
1115 and went to ~instein's Bagels for lunch. As the tried to go back to the 9chool some i

kids ran up to their car and told them not to go back because of the shootings. When they
tried to go back all the streets were blocked, so tbey went home. She did not Ie. or hear
anything Out of the ordinary when ~he left the s~hool grounds.

1. Mohr stated that he, Scott Larson, Ryan !shino, Maet wells (in Matt'g carl and Jesse
Soyer, had lete the school grounds sometime between 1105 and ~110. They went to
Southwest Plaza Mall to have lunch. While they w.r~ at the m8l1 they heard about the
shooting and did not go back to the schOol, they made it as far as Pierce and Bowles
and saw thac all the roads were blocked, a. did noe see or hear anything out of the
ordinary when he left the school to go to lunch.

1. Monaghan stated that he and Jason Duff left the school a~ about 1020, because he also
has 4 t h ho~r free. They went to the Mall to get eome food, then went to Jason'~ house.
Jason Duff lives directly acrose the street from Columbine. As they were preparing to
go back to school, Monoghan, Qe9~~ibe9 ~hat he believed to be cannons going off. Wh.n
they left Jason!s h~uae to see what was going on they saw students pouring out of th~
school. Several peopl~ came into Jason's hQuse He did not see anyone with a gun, or
throwing any type ot device.

said that he followed Koons to the FirestoneStation located at Chatfield and Ccalmine and from there the two of them went
to the Montoya home. Montoya said that he had gottenout of scboolat about 1O~ 15 a.m. and had gone home and returned to
the school to pick up Koons at about I I: I5 AM.. Montoyasaid that he doe. not live far from the school and that he did not
want to wait an hour for Koons so he had gone home first.

Montoya said that he and Koons had lunch at his house and were outside playing basketball when 'hey saw a tan colored
possibly and S(jVPUJlin!O~vew.y_ Montoya said that he didnot really lookat the car but did state that the
car drove down the street at a high rate of speed, but indicated that was not unusual for 0 drive that way
Montoya said that he did not see who had gotten in or out of the car but said he heard car doors close. l asked Montoya how
manycar doors he heard and he said that he thoughthe heard rwo burwas not sure. Montoyasaid that the car was there in the
-"dri vewayfor about 5 to 10mieutsand that he did not see who got back into the car. Montoya said that he and Koons
"ere playing basketball and did not pay much attention to the vehicle.

Montoya indicated rbat he remembers the tan vehicle having: a very dark tinted rear window with numerous stickers stuck to
the rear window. MOntoya said that he and Koons heardnumerous police sirens prior to the arrival of the tan vehicle and that

he heard a few police sirens after the tan vehicle left the "'eSidence. Montoyasaid he does not know the exact time
that the tan car drove to t h e _ b u t thought it was around 12:20 p til.. I asked Montoya why he thought it had been
aroundthat tune and he said that Koons did not have to be back to school until 12:40 p_m. and that Sandy Montoya had arrived
homejust after the tan vehicle lell th~me.

a shooting at ColumbineHighand they ail Went inside to watch the news. Gabe Montoyasaid that Koons called his motherto
tell her that he was alright and was not going back to school. Moatoya said that they stayed homewatchingthe newsand that

first thing in the morning and that Dylan Klebold and EricHarris are in the same class but they were not there in class that
morning. Montoyasaid that Dykemantold him that Cary Depccterwasdead that he had seen a news telecast that had saidthat
Desooeerwas One oftbe victims. Montoya said that Dykeman was visibly upset and stated several times that he did not believe
that Klebold and Harris had done what the did. Montoyasaid that Dykeman said something to the effect of. .. I can't believe
they would do something like that, we had sucha goodtime together on Saturday."

Gabe Montoya '31d that his friend Cory KOOl1S may be able to provide additional Information on tbe tan vehicle and it's
occupants. I contacted the Koens residenceand was advised thatCoryKoonscould be reached at that number on May 11. 1999
around 10:00 a.m,

SandyMontoyasaid that she hadattended the afterprom celebration and had seenNate Dykemanthere. Shesaid thatsheasked
im how dinner was and that be appeared some what angry or agitatedwith her for asking him that question, Sandy Montoya
said that Nate Dykemanwas truly upset, crying and visibly saddenedby what bad happened,

I asked Gabe Montoyato tell me what he knew about Kleboldand Harris. He said that he knew they were member, of"TeM"
and did not know them very well, but could recognizethem in pass each other in the hallways at school Moutoyasaid that he
did not know the members of the ··'TCM"''' except for Nate Dykeman. He 'aid that Dykeman lived just down the street and
wouldcome over frequentlywhen h. and Koons were outsideplaying basketball. I asked Montoya about the "TCM"and how
they acted. Montoyasaid tha! the membersoftbe group "would leave you alone if you loft them alone" and "would be nice to
you if youwerenice to them." The interview with GabeMontoya andhis motherwas then terminated.

SYNOPSIS An interview conducted with ChristopherWALKER by
Investigator OBBEMA on April 28, 1999 indicated Clinton
MOORE as a possible witnessto events that occurredduringthe
April 20, 1999 Columbine Shooting

A phone interview was conducted with MOORE on lune J 0, 1999


MOORE slated he went hometo eat lunch on the day of the
shooting and did not knowit had happened until be tried to return
to school. MOORE stated he saw his friend ChrisWALKER, and
WALKERtold him that someone was shooting up the school
MOORE stated there were police cars all around the school.
MOORE stated he got in WALKERS car and they drove to a cui-
de-sac south of the school. He stated they parked the car and saw
several students running awayfrom the school He did not
remember seeingany studentswearing black clothing and saw no
trench coats MOORE staledhe heard shooting comingfrom the
area of the schooland everyone around him got downon the
ground MOORE stilled he and WALKER climbed a fence near
the football field and headed towards Clement Park. MOORE
stated he and WALKER attemptedto get WALKER'ssister's car
out of the parkinglot in CLEMENT Park, but the police would not
let them move the vehicle MOORE stated he went with
WALKERS to WALKERS house and watchedeverything on TV

MOOREstated he knows Nate DYKEMAN real well and


DYKEMAN is a great guy He stated he heard a few students
sayingall the reM type peoplewere involved in the shooting and
he does not believeDYKEMAt'< had anything to do with it He

Mother of the above listed student

INVESTIGATION

On 081799, I telephonically interviewed Tona Moore, the mother of the


above listed student. She told me that her son was not available because he
was away school. He attends college at Colorado State University in
Boulder, Colorado.
She provided the following information. She reported that her son was at
school on the 20" of April, but away at lunch at the time of the shooting. He
went to Taco Bell.
When Clinton came back to the school after lunch he saw police and
barricades to the school. He looked for friends and then went to Chris
Walker's house.
Clinton had been in classes with Harris and Klebold, but did not know them
on a personal level.
Tona said that Clinton was shocked about the incident and reported that he
had no prior knowledge of this incident. Tona could not recall anything that
she had heard from Clinton that would be considered unusual.
Tona asked her son at the time of the incident if he had any information that
he could provide the police, he said no.

INVESTIGATION:

I telephonically interviewed the above listed witness on 081199.


Mr. Ivory was at school on 042099, he and his colleagueMr. Tonelli were at
lunch when the shootingincident began. He left the school by exiting the
building through the main entrance and then walked out to his car in the
teacher's parking lot. He reported to seeing noting unusual or anything that
would indicate there would be a problemat the school,
He received a telephone call while he was at lunch, at he New York Bagel
Shop that advised him of the shooting, He immediately returned to school
and was stopped by police barricade, He then wen: to Leawood Elementary
where he assisted in reuniting parents to students.
He reported that he had seen students in trench coats on campus several
times throughout the school year, but never had an indication that the TCM
was violent.
He reported that he had taught Dylan Klebold in the 7th grade. He had seen
Klebold on campus before but had lost contact with him.

his Mitsubishi Gallant,whichdisplays Coloradopassenger plate GB02419 Derekstated accompanying him to lunch werehis
friend, JustinCarlson, telephonenumber(303) 979-5669, and Justin's friend, Angie Portincaso. telephonenumberunknown
Derekstated that he did not see anything unusual out in the studentparking lot. He told me that he parks his car in the Senior
lot and his parking spacenumberis t 13. Again. Derekreiterated that the incident at Columbine High School occurred sometime
after he left.

Derek was asked if he had any classes with Dylan Klebold or Eric Hams. He stated that he has a second hourCalculus class
taught by Mr. Higgins, with Dylan Klebold and Robyn Anderson, I asked if he saw Robyn or Dylan the week the inCident
occurred, He statedon Monday, 4-19·99,he doesn't recallseeingRobyn or Dylanand he doesn't recallseeing themon 4-c!l-99

On may 20, 1999 I was assigned an interview with Columb~ne High Schoel
st~dent} Catherine Nelson. It was reported that Catherine had a discussion
in band with Duscin Gor"on about propane. On May 25eh r spoke to Seety
Nelsen, Catherine's mother, and made an appointment to interview Catherine
on May 27th at 1100. Ms. Nelson advised that ie would be all right to
conduct the interview without one of Catherine's parents being present,
On May 27th ae 1050 I arrived at 8807 West Caley Place ~~d contacted
Catherine Nelson. Catherine relat:d that she was a student ac Columb~ne
High Scheol and had been in the twelfth grade, and had just graduated.
Catheri~e continued to say thac she had been in school on the morning of
April 20, 1999. She said that she arrived at school about 7:20AM. She
advised that she parked in the wese lot. Catherine advised that she d~d
not see eieher Eric Harris or Dylan Klebold upon entering ehe loe or
schc~l. Catherine seated that she was not in the cafeteria at any cime
during the morning. She reported that she did walk by the cafeteria, on
the outside, on her way co leave for lunch. Catherine said that she left
t~e school buildi~g by way of the west, north r main hall exit. She walked
down the stairs on "he west end of ehe building to the parking lot.
Cacher~ne advised that it was abou~ 11:20AM when she left for lunch. She
sai~ tha~ she knows the time beca~se as she passed the cafeteria window she
looked in and saw a clock on the east wall near the kitchen. She continued
to her car and left the lot, She stated chat she did not observe either
Harris or Klebold eneering the lot as she was leaving. Additionally
Catherine said that she did not see either Harris or Klebold in the
vicini~y of the wesc exit or stairs when she left,

Catherine-reported that she did have a conversation with Dustin Gortor.
about propane. She advised that during a band class last semester tfall
1998) she and Dustin were in the band room when Dustin picked up a propane
cylinder, Catherine said she told Dustin "oh thats gas, put it down",
Dustin replied that it wasn1t flammable. Cacherine stated that the propane
had been left in the room by the teac~er. She knows nothing more about the
gas.
Catherine said that she did know ErlC Harris because they were in
video class, second hour, togethe= but they did not talk much except to
say hello. Catherine advised that Eric was not in class on the mo~ning of
Aprll 20th. She said that she does not know Dylan Klebold. She further
advised that she does not associate with anyone associated with the T~enc~
Coat Mafia. She did advised that her friend Dustin Gorton might be
friendly with memebers of the gro~? but she did not know for sure. She
advised that he made a habit of weari~g camouflage pants. She advised
that she thought it was strange ~hat Dustin quit saying hello co her seme
time ago. She did not know why tbis happened.
Catherine stated that she did noe know there was a problem until she
got to work at the Dairy Queen and one of the employees sa~d that ~here
had been a shooting at the school. Catherine said thac she was recu~ning
to school from lunch, and when she reached the intersection of West Pelk
Avenue and South Pierce Street the road was blocked by police who cold her
not co go back to schoal. She s~a:ed that, at this time, she thought
there might have been a traffic accident on Pierce Street,
Catherine reporced that she had not heard any rumors about i~pending
trouble at school anytime before Apr~! 20th, Neithe~ had she heard any
rumors about anyone building bombs or buying gut.s,
Catherine could provide no f~=ther information and the interview
ended at 1110,

Erlend Nilsen advised me that on 4-20-99, prior to the shooting, he was in his Germanclass on the lower level of Columbine
High School. Erlend advised this German class ended at approximately 1110 hours, Erlend Slated he then walked from his
German class, through the cafeteria, and went up !he stairway to the secondlevel of the high school, I asked Erlend if he sa"
any dufflebags and/or propanetankswhile he was walking through the cafeteria, and he said no he had not. grlend Nilsen said
when he reached the top of the stairway, he turned to his right and walked past the library, Erlend said that as he passed me

Eriendsaid. thaI he continued walking past the library to the main hallway, where he turned to the east and walked down the
hallway toward the administrative office doors. Er1end said after reaching these doors he exited the school through the main
entrance. Erlend Nilsen said this would have beenapproximately I J 10hours on 4-20-99 and said he then went to the Columbine
Library at West Bowles and Long Drive. arriving there at approximately 1.1; 15 am, Eriend said he remained at the Columbine
Library until epprcximately 1150 hours. and said when he left t"e library he tried to get back to Columbine High School.
however, he was unable to do so due to the police presence around the school.

I asked Erlend Nilsen about the "Trench Coat Mafia:' Eriendsaid that prior to the incident on 4-20-99 he had neverheardof the
"Trench Coat Mafia."

[next asked Erlend Nilsen if he knew Eric Harris, and he said yes he did due to the fact that Eric Harris was Inhis Germanclass
Erlend said that during his German class he would have a conversation with. Eric Harris once in a while and. said that these
conversations were normal in content. Erlend said mat Eric Harris would ""mostly dress normal" and said that Eric may have

possibly been a "Trench COal Mafia" studen~ however. he was not sure Erlend said although he was not sure abc"! how Eric
Harrisdressed. he believes that Eric used to wear a green baseball type cap and said that he does not rememberif Eric Harris wore
a trench coat or not Erlend said during his conversationswith Eric Harris, or during conversations others had with Eric Harris.
he may overhearda portion of. but he did nor hear any tall< of guns andlorbombs. ErIenddid say that EricHarris wouldtalkquite
a bit about a moviecalled "Blade,,,. Erlendsaid he believes this movie may have been about firearms,

It should he noted that Erlend Nilsen is residing in Colorado only temporarily and attended Columbine High School while he
and his family reside in the United States. Erlend is from Norway and advised me that his family is leaving on approximately
June "6. 1999 and moving back to Norway It was difficult to interview Erlend Nilsen due to the language barrier.

for his afternoon classes. however. he was unableto do so due to the police presence inthe areaof the school Kyle said that he
went into Leawood Park, which is just east of Columbine High School across South PierceStreet. and talked to friends for
approximately 20 minutes. Kyle said that from Leawood Park he could hear gunshots and could ten they Were somewhere in
the area of Columbine High Scheel, however, be was unableto say exactlywhere. Kyle said while he was in Leawood Park.
however. he did not hear any gunshots that he believedweredirected towards the students in the park. I askedKyle if while he
was in Leawood Park if be lookedtowardColumbine HighSchool III determine ifhe may havepossibly seen any of the suspects.

Coat Mafia"students in the hallways at Columbine High Schcoi, however, he did not know any of their names and only knew
that they dressedIn dark clothing, saying thattheirchoiceof colorwaseither blackor gray, Kyle said at umes the "Trench Coat
Mafia" students would wear trench coats. however, he said they did nor wear them all the time. Kyle told me that he did not

students. K.yle told me that he did not see any of the 'jocks" harass the "TrenchCoat Mafia" students, ncr did he see anyof the

who Kyle say. has harassed him personally in the past

Kyle Nitta told me that he does not know of any other students. nor has he heard any rumors of anyone who may be
manufactUrillg explosive devices and/or possessingor selling' firearms, Kyle also advised me that he does not knowwhat the
"thought of the day" was over the Rebel News Network (R.'<'N) for Columbine High School on 4-2()'99

[ asked KyleNitta how he has beendoing since the incident on 4-20-99, and he told me that he has been doing fine and has not
had any problems, His mother, Kathy Nitta, however. said thetshe has had problemsoff and on since the day oftha shooting,
however, up to this point has not seen any counselors and/ortherapists, I gaveboth Kathy and Kyle Nitta my business cardand
asked. them to contact me in the future if they want to speak with a 1C50 Victim Advocate. I advised that! would make the

necessaryarrangements for them at that time.

Justin Obermeyer advised meon 4-20-99 he gotoutof hisclass at II: 10a.m. and proceeded to walk to the boncmof the stair.v.y
mthe commons areaof the Columbine HighSchool cafeteria, Justin advised that he waiteddown at the bottom of thestairway
forhis friends. Kevin Forslund and Chris Friesell, Justin said thaIhe wailed for five minutes until approximately I I 15 on ~-20·
99, and when Kevin and Chris arrived they exiled the school into the studentparking lot and exited the parking lot to go
southbound on Pierce Slreet. Justin said they wereen route to hisresidence al6390 SouthQuayCourt, andthenthey were going

therefore whenthey saw Brookswalkingsouthbound on Pierce they saidto each other, "Theregoes Frankenstein," lustin advised
that at approximately 11 45 to 11 50 a.m., uponattemptingto rerum [0 Columbine High School for classes. he was steppedat

Walkerand Pierce due to the police presence in the area of Columbine High School.

I asked Justin Obermeyer if during the time he was in the Columbine High School cafeteria waiting for friends on 4-20-99, if
he had seen any "Trench Coat Mafia' students in the cafeteria and/or in the area where they gather. under the stairway in the
commonsarea, Justin then advised me that he does not recall seeing any "Trench Coat Mafia" students on .+..20-99 ! asked
Justin if he saw any duffle bags anc/or propane tanks while he was waiting in the cafeteria. and he said no he did not Justin
advised chat he did not see anything out of the ordinery and did not see any suspicious subjects Of items at Columbine High
School on 4-20 M99
I asked Justin if he knew of any other suspects who may be manufacturing explosive devices and/or
oossessingor selling firearms.and he said no, Justin said he has not heard any rumors of that taking place elmer

I askedJustinObermeyerwhathe knew aboutthe "TrenchCoat Mati." and specifically DylanKlebold and/or Eric Harris. Justin
said that in 1991he believes,although he is not positive,tharhe had a driverseducationclass with Dylan Kiebold Justinsaid
he did not recall ilIlything about DylanKlebold, nor couldh. recall if Dylanworea trenchcoat in 1997duringthis class, Iasked
Jusnn if he ever witnessed the "Trench Coat Mafia' srudents being harassed by other students, and he said no he had not. He
also said that he had not seen the "Trench Coat Mafia" students harass other students.

Justin advised me that on the Friday prior to the shooting.whichwouldhave been April 16. 1999,he was in a bathroom when
he saw a mentally handicap student that he only knows as "Nathan" in the bathroom. Justinsaid he asked "Nathan" how he was
doing. ana "Nathan" replied that there was a bomb in the stan that he was in and it was going to blew up. Justin said that
"Nathan" sounded excited about this Justin also said that "Nathan" will say things that are obviously not true and said he

believes that "Nathan" says these things due to the fact mat he is handicapped. Justin says he does not believe rhat these
statements made by "Nathan" are related or relative to the incident on 4-20·99, however, he wanted to bring it to my attention
so it could be documented Justin said that he does not know what "Nathan's" last name is,

Adam Oliveradvised me on 04-20·99. he golout of his classat 1110 hours. and had plannedto go to the Dairy Queenwith his
girlfriend. Sara Lutes, AdamOliveradvised aftergetting out ofclassat 11 10 hours. he walkedout of the schoolthrough the mair
entrance nearthe administraticn officeon me east sideof theschool. Adam Oliver said Lutes picked him up in her vehicleanc

Adam Oliver told me in the Spring of 1998, he had a history class with Mr. Dijozio. and in this class were two males dressed in
trench coats and black clothing; however, he did not know their names. Adam Oliver 'aid there was a female that he would
consider an associate of the Trench Coat Mafia in this class whose name is Nicole Markham. r asked Adam Oliver what made
him feel that Markham was an associate of the Trench Coat Mafia, and he said because it was his understanding that Markham
was Chris Morris' girlfriend at the time. I asked AdamOliver about Markham's type ofclothing worn, and he said, "She dressed
normal." [asked Adam Oliver ifhe recalled anything unusual about Markham in this history class, and he said no, he could not
think of anything.

I asked Adam Oliver if he knew ofanyone who may be manufacturingexplosive devices and/or possessing or selling firearms.
and he said no. Adam Oliver said he had not heard rumors of anybody doing these things either Adam Oliver said he does not
know ofanybody who has a double pierced eyebrow. I asked Adam Oliver if he knew what the "thought of the day" was over
the Rebel News Network (RNN) on 04-20-99, and he said no. he did not know what the "thought of the day" was.

1 asked Adam Oliver how he has been doing coping with the incident since 04-20-99, and he said he has been doing well with
no problems. I gave him my name and phone number and advised him to contact me if he should think. of further information
or ifhe wishes to talk with a leSQ Victim Advocate in the future, I told him I would make the necessary arrangements for him
at that time.

DISPOSITION: Case is open, pending further investigation.

is #847, and is located directly across from the ColumbineHigh School library. {asked Kerry if she saw any suspicious persons
or items at or around the Columbine High School libraryand she said no, she had not, Kerry said she proceededto walkdown
the stairway to the lower level of Columbine High School and walked along the east side of the cafeteria and then went down
the hall to her Spanish class, She said the Spanish class beginsat about 0730, I asked Kerry if while she was walkingalong the
side of the cafeteria if she had seen any duffle bags andior propane tanks and she said no, She also advised she did not see any
suspicious looking people or activity as she walked by. Kerry said that she was in her Spanish class until approximately 0825
hoursand said when she exited her Spanish class 'he walkedpast the cafeteria along the east 'ide again and went upstairsto the
second level of the high school and into the math hallway where she had her math class from approximately 0830 until 0925
Shesaid that when her mathclass was complete, she thenwentto her scienceclass whichlasted from approximately 0930 to 1025
hours. Kerry said that she had the fourth hour offso she went to Taco Bell with Mike Biggs and Monica Donovan, She said
that Mike drove them to Taco Bell for their lunch hour and said they left for Taco Sell on 04-20·99 at about 1030 hours. Kerry
said that althoughshe was not sureof the rimes,she believed thatthey returnedto Columbine High School at approximately 1145
hours and as they were pulling into the faculty parkinglot. theysaw numerousstudents running out of the school and away from
Columbine High School. Kerry said tney asked one unknown student what was going on and this student advised thar there had
been a shooting inside of Columbine High School. so Mike Biggs, Kerry O'Meara and Monica Donovan drove away from
Columbine High School and went to Monica's house, which she 'said is in the area of Ken Caryl 'and Pierce. Kerry said she
contacted her parents from Monica's house by telephone.

I asked Kerry O'Meara what she knew about the Trench Coat Mafia and she said she knew very little about them. however, she
said everybody knows who they are, Kerry said she has seen whom she believes to be Trench Coat Mafia students around the
hallways of Columbine High School and by the stairway in the cafeteria, Kerry said that she estimates when she sees them in
the cafeteria area that there are usually approximately live Trench Coat Mafia students in a group standing alone and to
themselves, Kerry said that prior to the incident on 04-21).99, she did not know who Eric Harris was. Kerry also said she did
not know the name of Dylan Klebold, however, whenshe saw his picturethrough the media, she recognizedhis face, She could
provide no further information about the Trench Coat Mafiaor the Trench Coat Mafia students.

Kerry O'Meara advised me that she has been having someproblems dealingwith the incidentat Columbine HighSchool since
04-20.99, however, up \0 thispoint in time. she has net seen any counselors or therapists. Kerry said that she has been thinking
aboutseeinga counselor Ot a therapist, so I gave her my nameand phonenumber and advised her if she wanted to talk witha

Klebold and Harris for about five years. They were in the 8th and
9th grades together. On the date of the incident, O'Niell said that
he left the school about 1115 to eat lunch at My Bagel Shop, which
he usually does. He was not friends with Harris Or Klebold but has
been in the cafeteria with them. He said that Harris always talked
about »'Death Match" or II Doom" and he, QINeill , wasn1t interested in
either galne so there was never much conversation between them.
Klebold was always quiet.

Jennifer Ellen Paavilainen, DOS 08/23/1983, 5445 West


Caryl Place, Littleton, Colorado, telephone (303)932-0045, a
sophomore at Columbine High School, was interviewed at her home
in the presence of her mother, Kathy Paavilainen, by Special
Agent (SAl Ricky V. Wright regarding the incident that took place
on 04/20/1999 at Columbine High School. After being adviaed as
to the identity of the interviewing agent and the nature of the
interview; psavilainen provided the following information:
Paavilainen was not in the cafeteria during lunch. She
and some friends went to a nearby MeDonalds for lunch.
Paavilainen left the school from an exit in the math department
at approximately 11:15 am. Paavilainen did not see anything
unusual as she left.
Paavilainen was in the cafeteria third period from
approximately 9,15 am to 10,10 am. She was sitting at table T on
the diagram sketch. Her brother Mike Paavilainen was also in the
cafeteria third period and was sitting at table E. Faavilainen's
sister, Renee Paavilainen, was there for a few minutes during
third period as well. Paavilainen does not remember seeing any
large duffle bags in the cafeteria during third period.
?aavilainen did know Eric Harris and DYlan Klebold a
little. Paavilainen does not recall seeing either Harris or
Klebold on the day of the shooting or the day before.
In January 1999, Paavilainen and her friend, Amanda
Semm, were involved in a minor car accident with Klebold and
Harris. Semm clipped Klebold'$ BMW on the left rear fender while
in the school parking lot. Klebold sot out and said not to worry
because the car had been hit before. Thera was no damaqe to her
frien~s car. Harris then gct out of the passenger side of
Klebold's car and was angry. Klebold ordered Harris to get back
in the car, which he did. Klebold then got back in the car and
drove off.

On 05-17 -99, at 1100. contact was made with Emtly Paletta. a Junior at CHS. who confirms being present at
CHS on 04·20-99 and being assign eel to "A:' lunch She noted not present during lunch. as she haelleft the
school grouncls She explainect she has a free 4'" hour. and because of this. often times leaves campus for
iuncl1 She identified other students being with her as Ryan Vandamme, Chad Laning and Zachary Ingels

Prior to her leaving school grounds. she had arrived In the cafeteria at 1100. and had remained in the
hallway. near the commons area visiting with friends She identified other students present at this time. as
Pat Ireland. who following her leaving had gone upstairs to the library; Elizabeth Klepper. who had left for a
5" hour class. Lindsay Ludwig and Chrisllne Mohrbacher. both of whom remained In the cafeteria for their
as ed "A" lunch, and Tim Madison and Kyle Mickelson. both of whom remained in the commons area
but Paletta was unsure of their final destination

Paletta reports observing no suspicious activity in the cafeteria or hallway prior to her walking to the south
parking lot and leaving the school grounds at 1115

She and her 3 companions had returned to the schoot within 20 minutes, and found Pierce Street closed.
and smelled smoke They were denied access to the school, and were informed of what that happened
She anc her friends picked up a number of freshmen students who were in the area of Leawod Park. and
together drove to another students home. where they contacted parents.

She acknowledged knowing some of the 'TCM" members by face, and identified Alex Marsh as being In
one of her classes She reports that 2·3 months ago, Marsh had related to her that she no ionger was a
reM, because Harris and Klebold were dolrtg some "weird things" She had not elaborated
On another occasion she had been advised by one of her friends, Jennifer Davis. that while she and Marsh
were in 7~ hour together. Marsh hac defended the actions of both Harris and Klebold and noted that she
could have easily been Involved. if she hadn't terminated her relationship With them

Paletta talked of another occasion, when prior to the 04·17·99 Junior/Senior Prom, oersoras) unknown had
defaced a number of posters The posters had noted the date of the prom and said. "Its Coming" The

On 06-15·99. I contacted Justin Pastine by telephone in reference to interviewing him about the shooting that occurred at
Columbine HighSchool on 04-20-99. Justin Pastine is a studentat Columbine HighSchool.

Justin Pastine told me that on 04-2(}·99. at approximately 1110. he got aut of his math class at Columbine High School. Justin
Pastine said his teacherfor this class was Ms. Layman. Justin Pasnne said after leaving the classroom. he walked to his school
lockerwhichis #861 Justin Pastine 'aid this locker is on thesecond levelat Columbine HighSchooland right across from 'he
high school library Justin Pastine said afterhe was done in his looker, he exitedthe school On the second level onthe westside
of the building by the gymnasium, I askedJustin Pastine if'he sawany suspicious peopleor suspicious objects while he was at
his lockeracross form the library and he said no. Justin Pastine advised me that once heexited the school. he rodehis bicycle

I asked Justin Pastine what he knew about the Trench COal Malia and in particular, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris. Justin
Pastinesaid that prior to the incident,he had never heardof DylanKlebold or EricHarris, and also said that he had neverheard
of the TrenchCoat Mafia prior to this incident. Justin Pastine advised he was not able to provideany further information about
any of the suspects in this case or the TrenchCoat Mafiastudents.

I gaveJustin Pastine my phone number and asked him to call me if he shouldthink of any informanonthat may be pertinent to
this case.

walked down the stairway from the upper level of Columbine High School to the lower level These stairs lead into the
cateteria/cornmonsarea, Leigh said when she got to the bottom of the stairway, she proceeded to exit the school. by walking:
through the commons area, and out of the doors located to the south of-he "Rebel Comer." I asked Leigh if she saw a duffle
bag or propane tank, such as thoserecovered in theColumbine HighSchool cafeteria. however she said no, I asked Leigh if she
remembered seeing any of the Trench Coat Mafia studentsin the cafeteriaand/or commons area as she walkedpast this area and
shesaid she didnot remember seeing any ofthem, Leigh saidaftershe exited Columbine HighSchool. she walked to her vehicle
(a silver FordTaurus)whichwas parked in the SeniorParking Lotsouth of the cafeteria. Leighsaid while she waswalking to
her car, she did not see anything out of the ordinary nor did she remembered seeingany of the Trench Coat Mafia students in
the parking lot. Leighsaid her friend by tbe name of Megan Sasanowentwithher to her residence at 6155 W, Fairview Avenue

Brian Sargent, Robert Perry, a female with the last name of Colby, and Brooks Brown. She said about one year prior to the
shootingson 04-20-99, Brian Sargem got inroa physical fightwith IsaiahShoels,however,she did not know what the fight was
about. Leighsaid BrianSargent finished the 1999school year out at Chatfield High Schoolwith the other students. Leighsaid
that RobertPerry WIlS "a pretty weird guy" and said Perrypaintedhis fingernails blackand she believedhe wore sunglasses most
ofthe time. Leigh said that he would wear all black clothing as well. She said 'he had Robert Perry in her American History
class duringthe springof 1998, Leigh said that the 'JOCks" in this class wouldharass and pick on Robert Perry and call him "a
fag" which would make Robert Perry angry toward them and she said Perry would retaliate by talking back to them Leigh
Pattersonsaid Brooks Brown associated with the Trench Coat Mafia students, however, she said he did not wear a trench 'Coal.
Leigh Patterson said she believes. as does the vast majority of Columbine High School students that she has talked to. that
. . - . . .as probably involved in someway in the shootingon 04-10-99 at Columbine High School. Leigh saidshe had
no evidenceof this however.and said "It Is my opinion that he was involved." Leigh said she believes tha 'was
not telling the truth." referring to the shooting and his denial of being involved.

I asked Leigh Patterson about racialintimidation or harassment at Columbine HighSchoolandin particulartoward Isaiah Shoels
Leigh said she did not see anyone racially intimidate or harass Isaiah Shoelsand said, in fact, everybody seemed to like Isaiah
Shoels.

Leigh Panerson saidother than what she told me about he has norheard aboutanybodynor she has heard rumors
of anybody else being involvedeither prior to, during, or after the shootingon 04-20-99, She also told me she does not know
anybody who may be manufacturing explosivedevices and/orpossessing or selling firearms, Leigh said she does not know of
anybody with a double pierce eyebrow, nor did she know what the "Thought of the Day" WIlS on 04-20-99 on the Rehel News
