Summary of staff reflections forms on ICT Ascot Community School

How have teachers furthered their individual inquiry term 2/3? All teachers have made progress with their individual inquiry during term 2 and 3. There seemed to be more opportunities to use or integrate ICT in term 2 as it linked with our focus topic for inquiry. We also had ICT included in our final stage as each class was to present their findings or investigation using a form of ICT. Some teachers found it difficult or had to rethink their inquiry as their class changed dramatically as did the level of their children. The teachers concerned are going to revise their initial inquiry to fit the needs of their new class. New Ideas from P.D or in school expertise Teachers are using new software or tools that they have investigated at techies, Craig Chapman, other teachers in the school environment or from attending Enrich sessions. We have used a more structured organisation for the C.O.W this term. It allows the C.O.W to be more readily available to everyone across the school at times when they require it for their classroom programme. New desktop computers in some classrooms to replace older ones. New ipad in senior class. What are out goals for the future? Continue to expose children to ICT in a variety of areas Use ICT as an extension tool and integrate into classroom programmes to allow more efficient and structured routines Continue work on school website Possibly organise a senior Enrich visit? Continue to share WALTS with children and link with Key Competencies

Learn to use a video camera as another from of recording learning journeys Digital books for the juniors (PM books) Continue to utilize the C.O.W to increase research skills for individual reading groups or extension Form some sort of assessment for ICT. Criteria, levels? Where to next/ What factors are we still dealing with concerning ICT? Some classrooms still find it difficult to deliver ICT programmes without the necessary resources e.g. Desktop computers, projectors, specific programmes that they may require or want to focus on for their teacher inquiry, Interactive whiteboard malfunctions, camera availability. Some teachers find it difficult to deliver an ICT programme or structure it within their class due to different class levels. If we were to do justice to an ICT programme it may need to be set up the same as numeracy or literacy in groups according to childrens levels. We would find it helpful to follow an ICT progression for each level or a curriculum. Focus and drive within the ICT project has not been the same as other projects we have been involved in. At times the ICT project has seemed inconsistent or lacking direction.
