This innovative design concept has its origins in advanced ergonomics. Similar pin/ wire cutters made of Stainless steel are difficult to manage due to their weight. Our TITANIUM pin/ wire cutter is 30% lighter! This is especially advantageous in helping to reduce fatigue for the practitioner. In addition, we have applied a TITANIUM NITRIDE coating to the jaws, to enhance their strength which increases the life of the instrument.

TITANIUM has a long history of being used for surgical instruments/ implants. It has inherent properties that are advantageous for medical use :
1. STRENGTH > 45% stronger than Stainless Steel. Has a low density and is very ductile, making it suitable for medical use. Its refractory metal properties gives it a relatively high melting point [3000F/ 1650C], and exhibits low electrical and thermal conductivity. 2. LIGHTWEIGHT > as much as 50% lighter than comparative instruments made of Stainless steel. This aids in the significant reduction of fatigue to the practitioner, in addition has the added benefit of causing reduced trauma to vessel/ organs during extended surgeries. 3. DURABILITY > instruments/ implants are exceptionally resistant to corrosion & wear because of its stable protective surface layers. 4. BACTERICIDAL/ NON-ALLERGENIC > as a result of its inherent surface oxide film layer 5. MRI SAFE > exhibits minor magnetic-field interactions. Low MRI-related heating due to its high tolerance [824F/ 440C]. Low characterizations of artifacts. 6. NON-FERROMAGNETIC > resists static build-up of magnetic charges which prevents other instruments and needles from clinging and improves handling properties 7. BIOCOMPATIBLE > non-toxic and is not rejected by the body 8. OSSEO-INTEGRATION > allows the bodys natural bone/ tissue to bond with implants 9. SENSITIVITY > has a higher tactile response when compared directly with Stainless Steel 10. IDENTIFICATION > instruments are more identifiable due to an industry standard BLUE anodized surface finish. It can be polished or matte, where the latter provides anti-glare properties. 11.
