Table 6-18 Transmission cables SN S1 Description For details, see 6.5.2 E1/T1 Signal Cable.
NOTE
The data can be transmitted through an FE/GE cable. The FE/GE cable connections are the same as E1/T1 cable connections.
Structure
The E1/T1 signal cables are of two types: 75-ohm E1 coaxial cable and 120-ohm E1 twisted pair cable. One end of the E1/T1 signal cable is a DB26 male connector. The connector at the other end of the cable should be made on site according to site requirements. Figure 6-21 shows an E1/T1 signal cable. Figure 6-21 E1/T1 signal cable
Pin Assignment
Table 6-19 and Table 6-20 describe the pin assignment for the wires of the E1/T1 signal cable.
NOTE
In Table 6-19, "Tip" refers to a wire in the E1 coaxial cable, and "Ring" refers to an external conductor of the cable.

About This Chapter
This describes the auxiliary equipment of the BTS3900. 8.1 PS4890 Cabinet The PS4890 cabinet design is based on the design of the BTS3900 cabinet. The PS4890 cabinet houses the AC/DC power system and modules such as the DCDU-04 and DCDU-03. For details, see the PS4890 User Guide. 8.2 EMU Environment Monitoring Unit (EMU) is an environmental monitoring device that monitors environmental conditions of the equipment room.

(1) AC/DC power system (2) DCDU-04 (5) Support plate for the battery group
(3) DCDU-03
(6) Positive wiring copper (7) Baffle plate bar for the battery group
The 48 V 50 Ah, 48 V 92 Ah, or 48 V 184 Ah battery groups in the cabinet provides backup power. The AC/DC power system converts the AC power into -48 V DC power and provides three outputs to the battery group, DCDU-04, and DCDU-03. The DCDU-04 provides two DC outputs to the BTS3900. The DCDU-03 provides nine DC outputs to the transmission equipment.

8.2 EMU
Environment Monitoring Unit (EMU) is an environmental monitoring device that monitors environmental conditions of the equipment room. EMU connects to main equipment and performs monitoring functions through the alarm cables. The EMU has the following functions:
l
Providing monitoring ports. The EMU provides monitoring ports for the temperature, humidity, water, infrared, and door control sensors. Additionally, it provides monitoring ports for Boolean value, analog, and output control. Providing communication ports. The EMU provides two kinds of communication ports, RS485 and RS232, for communication with the BTS.
For details on the structure of the EMU, see EMU User Guide.
