RESEARCH EXPERIENCES
University of South Florida, Tampa, FL
Graduate Research Assistant, Dr. Sarah Yuan August 2012-Present Studied factors contributing to microvascular hyperpermeability under inflammatory conditions. Utilized techniques such as cell culture, ECIS, immunocytochemistry, Western Blot, and RT-PCR to determine how changes at the cellular level effect endothelial barrier function. .

Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL

Undergraduate Researcher, Dr. Nancy Morvillo and January-April 2012 Dr. Brittany Gasper Collected samples of native lichen species and several bacterial samples from Florida Southern College campus. Performed Kirby-Bauer Disc Diffusion assay using aqueous lichen extracts to determine antimicrobial activity of lichen against bacterial samples. Undergraduate Research Assistant, Dr. Edie Banner August 2011- April 2012 Synthesized and purified pyrrole-based compounds designed to treat Type 3 Long QT Syndrome by inhibiting voltage-gated sodium channels. Undergraduate Researcher, Dr. Brittany Gasper October-December 2011

Stephanie Davis - 2

Identified species of cyanobacteria from several Central Florida lakes utilizing several biochemical tests. Determined overall status of eutrophication based on species identified from lake samples.

Undergraduate Researcher, Dr. Carmen Gauthier October-December 2010 Analyzed water samples for calcium, carbonate, orthophosphate, and copper concentrations a variety of analytical chemistry techniques. Collaborated with several colleagues by comparing data and interpreting differences in results obtained.
