Rane (madras) limited (RML) , puducherry is one of the rane group of companies, RML puducherry was started in 1996 in technical collaboration with M/s TRW, UK. The factory has a total land area of 73008 sq. meters and builds up area of 4025 sq .meters. The plant started with supply of manual rack & pinion to maruti Suzuki, small 10% share of business. Since then it had grown significantly. The plant currently manufactures manual

rack & pinion steering gear, steering suspension and linkage products for passenger car application. Rane (Madras) Ltd. is a public company engaged in the manufacture of components for transportation industry. Its products include steering and suspension systems for passenger cars, multi utility vehicles, light commercial vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles and farm tractors. The company was founded in 1960. Its has a registered business office located in Chennai, India. Rane (Madras) is listed on the Bomaby Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol RML.

The company is the market leader of steering and suspension systems in India. Its production plants are located in Chennai (2 plants), Mysore, Pondicherry. The companys vision is to retain leadership in the domestic steering gear market and penetrate chosen export markets.

Description and history The Company is mainly engaged in the components for transportation industry. The Company is engaged in the manufacture of steering and suspension systems for the automobile industry. It operates under one division: components for transportation industry. The Company manufactures two types of steering gears, namely, ball type steering gears, n and rack and pinion type steering gears. The other products include tie rod assemblies, drag

link assemblies, center link assemblies and gear shift ball joints. The Company is a subsidiary of Rane Holdings Limited. Its other subsidiaries include Rane Engine Valve Limited, Rane Investments Limited and Rane Diecast Limited. The Company was incorporate on 31/3/2004 & The Company we rename to Rane Madras manufacturing Limited on 22/2/2005. The Company was listed in Bombay Stock Exchange Ltd.

MAJOR CUSTOMERS
Major customers include maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Fiat and Ford, Ashok Leland, Eicher, Hero Honda. The major overseas customers are CNH UK, DEUTZ Germany, electro motive USA, HTZ GERMANY, Yamaha Asia, and TRW Europe and USA.
