Camberwell College of Arts Unit FDA GRAPHIC DESIGN Defining the Subject: Sustained Specialist Exploration 09/02/12 4 Credits 40 4 Stage 1

Context During this unit you will develop schemes of work that put into practice key concepts, methodologies and processes from unit 2 in order to generate communications strategies that utilise a range of different media platforms. You will be given the opportunity to capitalise on previous learning in a more sustained and detailed exploration. This process will be informed and supported by a series of practitioner led workshops, practical inductions and seminars. Brief Description/Specification of Task Unit 4 is supported by a series of workshops, tutorials and lectures (see timetable & handbook) and requires the completion of the following assignments Manhattan Mono, Credentials and Publication Design. For more detail please refer to the assignment briefing sheets. Manhattan Mono You are to create a marketing campaign for a silent film festival in New York using limited colour and simplified representation. Credentials You are to produce a strategy for promoting yourself as a creative practitioner. This will involve the utilisation of digital, print and online media Publication Design You are to package a large body of text into a multi page publication using advanced typographic skills working with layout, page formatting, hierarchy, pace and pagination.
