3. CONTROLLING SPECIFICATIONS: All works related to plastering will conform to PWSSB Specifications. 4. MATERIALS: All the materials will be tested in accordance with the in coming material procedure. CEMENT: Cement, unless otherwise specified, will be ordinary Portland cement conformingtoIS: 269 & IS: 8112. Cement will be stored in godowns at site to protect from dampness and will be made easily accessible for proper inspection and accounting. MTC will be produced with every batch of cement. SAND: Sand for plastering shall conform to PWSSB specifications. 5. PROCEDURE: Internal masonry surfaces shall have 12mm thick plain faced cement plaster in cement mortar (1:4) with neat lime finish on top. External masonry surfaces shall have 20mm thick sand faced cement plaster in cement mortar (1:4).waterproofing compound of approved make and quality shall be added to the cement mortar in proportions as specified by the manufacturer. Concrete surface and ceiling shall be plastered with cement sand mortar (1:3) 6 mm thick using medium coarse sand.

PREPARATION OF SURFACE: Before plastering work is started over masonry work, the joints shall be raked out properly. Dust and loose mortar shall be brushed off. Efflorescence if any shall be removed by brushing and scrapping. For concrete surface, the surface shall be thoroughly hacked. APPLICATION OF PLASTER: a) Ceiling plaster shall be completed before commencement of wall plaster. b) Wall plaster shall start from top and worked downwards to the floor. c) All putlog holes shall be properly filled before plastering. d) To ensure even thickness and true surface, plaster about 5x5 cm shall be first applied horizontally and vertically, at not more than 2 meters intervals over the entire surface to serve as gauges. e) Mortar shall be mixed in the mortar tray properly. The mortar shall be then applied on the wall between the gauges with trowel. f) The mortar shall then be applied in a uniform surface slightly more than the specified thickness. Finally the surface shall be finished off true with trowel or wooden float. g) Excessive towelling or over working the float shall be avoided. 6. INSPECTION: Visual inspection will be done for proper raking, chipping & brushing of surfaces where plastering is to be done. All put log holes shall be properly filled in before plastering The mortar of the specified mix shall be used. Thickness of cement sand mortar shall be checked at random. Surface shall be thoroughly washed with water, cleaned and kept wet before commencing plaster. Excessive trowel ling or over working the float shall be avoided.

All corners & junctions shall be truly vertical or horizontal as the case may be and shall be carefully finished. Rounding or chamfering shall be carried out with proper templates to the sizes required. In suspending work at the end of the day, the plaster shall be left, cut clean to line both horizontally and vertically. Curing shall be started as soon as the plaster has hardened sufficiently that is generally the next day of work, so that the plaster does not gets damaged when watered. Plaster shall be kept wet for a period of 07 days.

Inspection report shall be prepared as per the approved ITP No 23.
