It is important to determine the ideal mowing height of the lawn, as mowing too short can harm future growth. Always cut the lawn regularly and never lower than half of the grass height (at the time of mowing). If a regular weekly mow is missed the grass should be cut no lower than half of the total height, the next time the lawn is mown. A well maintained, thick, healthy lawn is more capable of withstanding stress. Proper care primarily includes regular mowing, a regulated water supply and adequate supply of nutrients. Occasionally lawnraking and scarifying will improve the lawns absorption of water and nutrients. Scythe Mower Benefits AL-KOs range of scythe mowers have been designed for use in long grass and wild flower areas. The tall grass is cut at the base, allowing the grass to be easily gathered up whilst ensuring that wild flower seeds are left undamaged on the surface of the soil. Powered by Briggs & Stratton engines and fitted with 87/91/102cm cutting blades to suit different needs, the operator can clear long grass areas quickly and easily. The large wheels with a deep tread are power driven for easy manoeuvrability over tough terrain. The BM5001R is equipped with double wheels to aid stability, spreading the weight of the machine and offering even more traction on tough surfaces. The BM5001R is also equipped with a reverse gear, making it easily manoeuvrable in confined areas.
