What is Word Cruncher? Word Cruncher can be defined as: An analytic tool in general that permits to users to do searches with complex word arguments in the search. This type of research support is more than adequate for many researchers and scholars. Yet, there are additional research tools called reports. A concordance program like Word Cruncher produces frequency lists of corpora and key word in context displays, searches words, word combinations and parts of words. Who can use Word Cruncher? Word Cruncher was created for pedagogical purposes and literary and linguistic research. Before computers and text-analysis software like Word Cruncher (there are other programs like it), concordances were the best means by which researches could analyze text. How does it work? Word Cruncher offers users a complete set of tools for graphical interface development and creates a full graphical interface for documents with buttons, hot-words, graphical hot spots, and tools for driving video, audio, Internet browsers, and external executable files. 1. Searching

In conformity with the Word Cruncher website, there are three types of searches allowed in Word Cruncher: 1.1 Single word When doing a single word or phrase search, a user would double click on any word or phrase in the text itself or the text search box and the software would retrieve every occurrence of that word. If the user wants a different word he or she may choose to look at the WordWheel. 1.2 Phrases Phrases must have double quotes around them if the user wants to find all meanings of the exact phrase. To retrieve a group of words within 7 words of the first word, a user would instead use single quotes. More complex phrases require custom logic operators between each word. 1.3.Wild card searches Wild card searches allow for only single word searching or searching phrases with custom logic

Basic Options 2.1 Systems Menu This system menu, found by clicking on the system icon icon in the upper left corner of the help window, is part of every Windows program and is not specifically for Word Cruncher. 2.2 Contents tab The Contents tab contains a complete list of the Help topics available to you. From this tab you can search the Help system, using the outlined headings and accompanying topics as a guide. To do this, follow these steps: 2.3 Index tab The Word Cruncher Help system contains an index of keywords that you can search to find information about particular topics in the program. This index is similar to the index of a book in that it contains only specific words found in the Help system. The functions found under the Index tab allow you to search this index. 2.4 Search tab As with the Index tab, you can use the Search tab to quickly find Help topics that are especially useful to you. However, instead of being limited to keywords, as you are with the Index tab, under the Search tab you can type in any word or phrase, and all the Help pages that contain any or all of those words will appear. To do this, follow these steps: 2.5 Help content window This window contains the explanations and images of the Help topics you searched for with the Contents, Index, and Search tabs. If you used the Index or Search tab to bring up topics in this window, the word or words you searched for will be highlighted for easier reference. To search the contents of this window, use the scroll bars on the right side of the window. You can also click on the hyperlinks (blue, underlined text) to move to different topics within Help. 2.6 Close button To close Word Cruncher Help, click on the "x" icon on the Systems Menu bar (found at the top of the screen), or from the Systems menu icon select "Close." Word Cruncher Help will close. 3.Advanced Options Word Cruncher is an International Document Management because has impressive tools for international document management: Select a language, type in that language, search, examine carrefully all vocabulary in that language, and synchronize translated versions. newspapers, literature, legal documents, speeches, technical manuals, and many other texts and documents. Word Cruncher is a text retrieval and analysis program that allows users to index or use a text, including very large multilingual Unicode documents. It supports the addition of tags (such as part of speech, definitions, lemma, etc), graphics, and hyperlinks to text or multimedia files. In addition to supporting contextual and tag searching, Word Cruncher also includes many analytical reports, including collocation, frequency distribution, vocabulary usage, vocabulary dispersion and various other reports.
