Industry Mentoring Initiative (IMI) A career mentoring program offered to first-year students who are committed to making a career switch into consulting. Participating students are paired with a consulting corporate partner (this year's is Deloitte) that shares advice and expertise on how to transition into a consulting career. 2. Stern Consulting Corps (SCC) A program that enables Stern students to put into practice the skills and knowledge they gain in the classroom to help benefit nonprofit organizations and minorityowned businesses in NYC. Recent partners have included: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Clinton Foundation, Seedco, Metropolitan Opera and more. Entrepreneur Exchange (EEX) Consulting Program - A student led program that seeks to assist startup companies with a variety of business issues. To specialize, you must complete 9 credits in classes that correspond to that specialization. So no, you definitely won't end up using all your elective credits for one specialization. 2. Specializations are not specific to your second year -- you can begin taking elective classes that can count toward your specialization(s) as early as second semester of your first year. At Stern, you can specialize in up to three areas. I myself am specializing in two -- marketing and

strategy -- and I feel like most students I know are also doing two, but zero, one, or three are also options! Stern also houses the Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship, which is dedicated to the exploration and encouragement of entrepreneurship, new venture creation and innovation within the business school curriculum and through the support of entrepreneurship research. At Stern, all MBA students will graduate with an MBA in General Management. Students can choose to specialize in up to 3 areas. Those who are interested in Consulting generally specialize in Management, Strategy or both. Students can join the Management Consulting Association, which holds Casing Boot Camps, corporate presentations and other events for students that are interested in a career in Consulting. Top consulting firms, such as BCG, McKinsey, Deloitte and Booz recruit on campus at Stern and hire Stern students for internships and full-time positions every year. Students can also apply to be a part of the Stern Consulting Corps, which is a 10week consulting internship with non-profits in New York City.
