hockey team from Boston in Massachusetts. Boston Bruins was started in the year of 1924 so it is the oldest ice hockey team in America. The team currently plays its games at the TD Garden. Previously, the team played its games at the Boston Garden. The history of Boston Bruins goes back to a financier who bought the ice hockey league from the National Hockey League (NHL) for $15,000. Boston Bruins showed good performances in many ice hockey games against opponents such as Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Winnipeg Jets, and Washington Capitals. It has many well known players such as Esposito, Bourque and etc. Art Ross was hired as the First General Manager Art Ross was the first manager of Boston Bruins. He led the team to win 3 Stanley Cups. Later, Mr. Adams, the boss of the franchise, added more talented players to his team by purchasing the Western Canada Hockey League. Shortly after the purchase of the Western Canada Hockey League, the team produced a superstar player, Eddie Shore, who was the teams defenseman. In 1972, Storer Broadcasting purchased the team from the Adams family. Storer was the boss of WSBK-TV. In 1975, the team was sold by Storer Broadcasting to another group under Jeremy Jacobs. Boston Bruins was represented by Jeremy Jacobs on the NHLs Board of Governors. The Bruins Played Home Games in Boston Garden and TD Garden Boston Bruins played their home games in several venues over the years. They played at the Boston Arena, in between the year of 1924 1928. Starting from November 20 in 1928, the Boston Bruins played their home games at the Boston Garden. The Boston Garden is large and can house 17,000 audiences. In the first match at the Boston Garden, the team lost to Montreal Canadiens. The Bruins had won 29 matches from 1967 1996. When Jacobs became owner of the team, they won 20 matches from 1975 1996. The Bruins had been ranked as the second best ice hockey team in the NHL from the year 2008 2009. The Current Management of Boston Bruins The change of management had led the Boston Bruins team to win the Stanley Cup in 2011. Currently, Jeremy Jacobs is the owner. Charlie Jacobs is the principal. Peter Chiarelli is the General Manager. Cam Neely is the president. Harry Sinden acts as a senior advisor to the owner of the Boston Bruins, Jeremy Jacobs.
