Dreams to Death Many dream of companionship and respect, but tragedy and, betrayal prevent them from achieving them. John Steinbeck addresses this in his novel Of Mice and Men. Lennie and George dream about living a better life off the fatta the land on a house that they can call their own instead of living the life of a migrant worker. One example of a person who had a dream was curlys wife she dreamed about being in movies and being an actress. There is a lot of dreams of Steinbecks novel another one is Leonie candy and George dreaming of a better life. As they all dream of better lifes something stops them one has to get married n get away from their family while the others need the money. Another example of dreaming is crooks when he dreams about belonging with the rest. in the book Steinbeck states that crooks does not really care if he belongs but as u keep reading when he talks to Leonie u can understand he wants to be friends. As u begin to read Steinbecks novel there is a wanting to belong and a wanting of dreams. In almost all of the novel most of the characters dream of wanting something. In the forth chapter as the talk about crooks you could tell he is to himself, he knows that he is not wanted but he never trys to b wanted. As Leonie enters the room crooks emedilty denies him. Steinbeck made sure that crooks would not like to b bothered with. As u keep reading this novel curly as has a dream he dreams of not to be seen as a whip. When Leonie attacks curly and there trying to find a way not to be told on they use curlys ego against him.

Steinbeck is a very creative writer he writes in this novel about respect, championships, tragedies but most of all dreams. I believe that Steinbeck wrote this novel to tell about dreams. In almost most of the chapters he writes about dreams. You can tell that their dreams never come true but as curly wife and Leonie pass its almost seem as if they entered their dreams. As you read Eugenia Collier novel of Marigolds and Steinbecks novel of mice and mine both of the two novels have the same idea of dreaming can lead to a difficult life. They both talk about dreams and how they both dont full the dreams. In both of the novels as the dreamers pass its as if they have entered their own state of dreams.
Dreams of a better life can make a difficult life more bearable. I believe in this entire book Steinbeck is trying to tell us that dreams of a better life do make it bearable for a difficult life. So in all reality of mice and men is an incredible novel about dreams of a tragedy.
